But if Pacquiao and JMM both lose their fights, they'll make a 3rd and final fight that I think everyone on here wouldn't mind seeing..

Cotto will be a 2nd tier top fighter who lost his 2 biggest fights. He'll still fight the Bertos and whomever else at WW, but his star power might diminish a little more than Pac's would at this point.

Plus, knowing Floyd...he'd STILL probably would take the Pacquiao fight even if he loses.

My question is who does a loss hurt more? Cotto or Pac?
Cotto, cause he'd be losing to a former 106 lber and a guy he outweighs by 10 lbs.

How would a KO loss effect Cotto?
if cotto loses he'll never be considered a ATG fighter and he'll never get a shot at pbf and he'll lose future paydays.

How would a KO loss effect Manny?
manny can always bounce back with a fight against jmm or pbf.

Who has more options after a loss?
cotto, because everybody will be gunning for him because he is vulnerable.

pac only has pbf left that can pay him a $15+ mill payday.

        Your thoughts fellow NSB peeps.
cotto loss will be a career ending loss for him, a big guy losing to a smaller guy is just not acceptable especially if the difference is 10 pounds or more

cotto will get the hatton treatment, look @ hatton now and how people look at him, pacman basically breaks you mentally and physically. Hatton is basically a good fighter but after a loss from pac, he became a overrated bum. This would also happen to cotto, and it will be much worse because cotto is larger and stronger, i really dont see any reason for him to fight anymore if he will lose to a midget, its just a big embarassement to be defeated by a small guy

look at pac last 2 opponents, DLH retired, hatton consider retiring also. is it just luck or what?

pac loss will not really hurt him but i think pac loss means goodbye boxing, he will definitly retire and concentrate on politics

Then why is Pacquiao favorite and Cotto the underdog???

Both Oscar and Hatton SHOULD'VE retired before Pacquiao fight...lol Cotto is the UNDERDOG, Pacquiao is favorite 2-1 and maybe 4-1 by fight time.

Exactly the same reason I'm droppin $200 on Cotto with my Vegas connect

They're giving Manny odds as if Cotto is a 2nd rate fighter. Ill take the odds and put money on Cotto.

I'd say Cotto, only because everyone is saying that he's the much bigger fighter, even though they're almost exactly the same size. But IMO, it shouldn't matter, a loss is a loss. The question is what kind of a loss they will experience. If it's a devastating one like Hatton's loss, then both fighter would be affected severely.

I'd say Pacman easily. He's pretty much done as a rising contender type of fighter. He's looking for biggest cash opportunities.

The big/small connection is about as ****** as they come. Are we supposed to take the 106lb argument with a straight face when the dude was 16? Fact is, he's a half inch shorter than Cotto with same reach advantage. He has fought at the '47 weight class and dispatched the best 140lb fighter around easily. So the argument is null and void and Cotto wouldn't look like a fool for losing to the best fighter on the planet. Only a fool would proclaim that, a real ****** fool

If Cotto gets blown out, then you could say he may or may not be done. If he loses a close and competitive war, then hell you can have a rematch or he lost a close match. Still no biggie. If he loses, he still has options. Shane Mosely, Antonio Margarito. Those two fights can easily put him back on the map after the loss. Especially the Margarito fight.

If he wins, the world is his.

If Pac loses, the shine and hype is over and his options would be very very limited. A Cotto rematched based on the outcome if its warranted. JMM or PBF since Pac will still be a celebrity and a cash grab that would be easy for PBF.

Cotto, obviously. Manny has the weight excuse. Cotto has two pounds. It doesn't hurt either of them all that much honestly, but comparatively it would hurt Cotto more.
