Whether Pacman was truly injured or not is hard to say...it could've been a ploy to explain his inability to put Juan Marquez away, or it could've been legitimate. Either way, he was still throwing his big shots, he just wasn't landing them the way he was in round 1 because Marquez had him timed and was slipping those shots and countering them. You have to give major credit to Marquez for making it through round 1, and coming back to fight a great fight. It showed heart, and professionalism.

And regarding a rematch, I don't blame Marquez for asking for big money. When you're 43-2-1 (33 KO's) with both losses being way back in your career, risking a big loss (not to mention two belts) against a big-name puncher should get you big bucks, and I feel he deserved equal money against Pacman. And when you consider that Marquez was the only opponent in recent times that Pacman couldn't put away, and who, in fact, won the vast majority of the fight after the first round, you can see why he should get at least equal money, and personally I think he should've gotten the larger share, had they come to any sort of agreement.

Marquez is far more skilled than Pacquiao, but Manny has that lightning fast straight left that he manages to catch almost everyone one with, and few can take it. But he can be beat; both his losses were KO's in the 3rd, and Marquez had him wobbly at least twice. I think that in a rematch, Pacman would come out hard and strong in the first round, but this time would be different because Marquez has his number already, and I think Marquez would put Pacman down in 5 or 6.
you may be right and i do give JMM the credit for what he showed. its just that JMM may have the belts but that is not what people are realy after. the people are after for a great fighter who is exciting to watch thus will draw more money. and its just not JMM. but granting arguendo that JMM holds the belts and he has a lot to risk, that just doesnt justify the reason why he'd let the rematch slip off. besides, in this fight, risk is always part of the action whether for bigger or smaller purse. and if he realy want the money, dont you think he should prove himself first by beating Pacman? coz if he did so, am sure he'd be the one facing el terrible now and earning the $1.75M and not Pacman. that is what Pacman was doing 'till JMM refused to fight. did he realy think Pac cant get a big fight if he wont fight him?

if anybody thought that what JMM did was justifiable due to the great risk he'd be facing, then why did he faught Pacman in the first place? its like starting something that he couldnt realy finish. and if anybody would say they'd be facing again someday, my question is why not then when he had the chance? besides, JMM is not getting any younger. so if he did not face Pac then, i doubt he'll ever be.

now regarding you saying JMM putting Pacman down in 5 or 6, i just cant imagine how on earth will it ever happen if he couldnt even make at least one in their entire initial 12rd bout. considering the fact that he already landed a few solid blows and yet Pac didnt even get close of being KD'd. we have already seen that Pac can take JMM's best punch and we've seen JMM cant take Pac's (in terms of KDs). that's a fact.
