Will you give Manny full credit if he beats Cotto @ 145 for the ww belt?

This is utter nonsense. Manny is a legend for what he's achieved, but these fights in between official weight classes are silly. Someone should either step up or step down. I think Manny is lucky as he's been steadily getting heavier. Boxers' who step back down again do seem to have a tendancy of becoming weaker.

But as I said, either fight at one weight or another.

To be honest I think its a bit gutless.
this is the exact same reason i voted no . I dont see why cotto should be forced to come below 147 lbs if the 147 lb belt is on the line.I have nothing against Manny , hes one of the most exciting fighters today and i always look forward to seeing him fight . The pound of weight doesnt make a difference either way coz cotto came at 146 against clottey. So it begs the question why fight at a catchweight if the welterweight title is on the line?

the question asks if you will give him FULL credit, which means 100% credit. at 145, i'd give him 85-95%, depending on how Cotto looks at weigh in and fight night.

if Cotto wins at 147, Cotto won't get full credit. but as a Pac fan, i don't really care about Cotto's reputation. at 147, Pac gets MORE than full credit if he wins, and gets a pass if he loses since he's the smaller guy.

fight should be at 147, or not at all. chagaev was outweighed by klit. he didn't ask klit to come down.

Agree. But some fighters' talent transcends the weight. Robinson weighing in at 157.5lb for a light heavyweight title fight, for example.

I disagree. If Pac were to win at 147 the same people who woudn't give him credit at 145 would be saying Cotto is shot, or margarito destroyed cotto, etc. The simple fact is Pac will NEVER get the full credit he deserves by a minority of the boxing community, and that's fine with me that's the way the sport is. I think when its all said and done though and time passes, people will really appreciate the greatness of manny pacquiao (much like Ali, etc. who were hated on during their careers but loved after).

I am a Pac fan, but I wouldn't give him full Credit for it. If he can fight DLH 147 he can fight Cotto at 147 that is the Welterweight limit.

Because he has no right to. There is no limit on the heavyweight division, which to me was always ****** and why we have people like Valuev winning fights basically because they are gigantic compared to almost everyone else.

And you'd give Pacquiao MORE than full credit if he beat Cotto at 147, yet you won't give him full credit for beating him at one pound below what he last came in at? What about when Miguel outweighs Manny by 10 pounds when they enter the ring?

He will be no different to what he usually is. On the other hand, Cotto doesn't like unofficial weigh-ins, so we may never find out how much he outweighs Pacquiao by.

all this weight drained thing is getting overused...

what about MP getting more blown up?

and why the **** welters are picking on lightweights & junior welters lately?

they should be fighting each other in the first place...

Oscar wasn't a 147 pound fighter though, he was a 154 pound fighter and pac was a 135 pound fighter. 147 was the agreed upon middle ground. Same goes for Cotto & Pac.

He came in at 142 though. Had Pacquiao come in at 147 your point would hold more weight (no pun intended). Pacquiao is not a full-blown Welter. It's that simple.
