Most likely I will be somewhat drunk tonight and will not fully appreciate the fight... but that's why god invented DVR. But there are two things that I will be looking in the first three rounds.
1- The Cotto Jab... nowone seems to be talking about it and it's a very effective weapon (Mosley fight) that can upset Clotteys Tempo by forcing him behind his shell-like-defense. If Cotto can establish a good solid jab from the get go he can set everything else behind it.
2- The Clottey Upper Cut. Cotto tends to lean forward (in top of this lead foot) to unload to the body. If clottey can connect with this upper (Margacheato fight) then he will take half of the Cotto arsenal out of the fight.
Clottey is durable and will be there for every round. Cotto has better boxing and a higher output, there is no boubt that Clottey will see combinations fly at him like never before.
My prediction is a somewhat cauitious fight, with heated exchanges but both boxer playing it smart and professionally. Cotto will owned the middle rounds, Clottey will come strong in the last third of the fight. But by then, it will be too late, Clottey either loses a decision or get's batter to submission in a close fight.
Intangibles:
Clotteys nevers - I can only wonder what is he thinking? His first big fight against his best oposition up to date. He looked solid against Judah (does not tells us much), looked good against Margacheato (only for four rounds) then it was one hand.
Cotto's - Will he have flash backs? Is he having nighmare where he is cratching against a cement wall? How much different is this training camp now that his uncle is not there? Has enough time pass to recover from the beatdown adminsister by the cement hand of Margacheato?
This fight has all the ??? of a good fight.... Guys I'm getting the first beer right now!
Peace!
