So, they will show this **** but not the most important heavyweight fight in years.

I have no interest in this fight. I don't see the deal with the weight either. I hate these catchweight fights.

no kidding, aren't there 17 different divisions in boxing? why even the NEED for catchweights then? IMO fight in a weight class or don't fight. screw this 138 vs 139 ... hell why not 138.5 so both parties are happy, lol.

can't say Diaz doesn't want the fight because he already agreed to fight, it's just the weight .. Lol. but yes thats one of the biggest arguments I have against catchweights, it "avoids" the division, and puts a greater emphasis on the weight of the fight (literally) be it 166 pounds or 162.5 or 170, or in this case 138 (or is it 139) and that's a big problem

cuz title or big fights usually don't need a "gimmick" behind them, but fighting at an in between weight, is a gimmick to begin with.

still never really understood catchweights .. and this 139 vs 138 hang up shows the ridiculousness as what's the big difference between one frikin pound, I mean **** Diaz is already going up from 135 why the big deal about ONE pound? and can't he weight in at what ever he wants come weigh in time? Cuz I recall reading so many times that the Pavlik-Taylor rematch was supposed to be at 166, yet come weight in time, both men were at 164 I believe.

yeah not a big fan of catchweights either, and a petty little argument like this just shows how silly and impractical they are. I guess Diaz going up in weight and fighting right at 140 makes too much sense.

and besides, I thought HBO reserved Catchweight fights for PPV
      Trinidad-Jones
      Winky-Hopkins
      Hopkins-Pavlik
      Taylor-Pavlik 2

^ all fights at catchweight, and all were HBO PPV.

read the other day that since Malignaggi lost to Hatton he was only going to fight providing the money was right.

I think Diaz will eat him for breakfast and spit out the left overs. Paulie can't punch and Diaz loves to step forward and get aggressive.

I want Paulie to win but I think Diaz will be too much for him.

                I love catch weight fights!

This is how the big fights get made in the sport of boxing and catch weights are nothing new to the sport. This sport is about business and everything, inlcuding the weights can be negotiated and agreed to contractually. The reality of it is, weights do affect the performances of certain fighters, and its the same in horse racing. If a promoter offers Fighter A to lose 5 pounds to fight Fighter B for Fighter A's highiest purse to date, 9 times out of 10 Fighter A is going to lose the 5 pounds and fight! Its business..

Who ever thinks there's nothin behind Diaz' punches is a fool. He's just missin that lil extra to put a guy down, but come the 8th or 9th round his opponents would look dead on their feet in the ring. It's like slow torture when you catch a beating from Juan Diaz. If he's still got that fight in him, Paulie's in for hell.
