When is De La Hoya going to get the Mosley win that he rightfully earned?

Oscar Dela Hoya needs to get credit for beating a prime Mosley on PED's. To be honest Oscar is pure class as he never made a big deal about it (He needed details and Mosley was a close friend of his but is he?).Doesn't matter if Oscar doesn't make a big deal but we the fans should.

This fight here was a big legacy fight when both guys where at the end of their prime and yet Mosley uses roids to gain an advantage? At the bottom are the Performance Enhancing Drugs Mosley used for the De La Hoya title fight.

    A quote:
According to the Sports Illustrated report, provided by Luis Llosa and L. Jon Wertheim, evidence seized during the BALCO raid provided proof that blood work done on Mosely had established that his hematocrit level – a test that measures red blood cells – was 44. After Mosley allegedly began his doping regime his tests levels reached 52.2 which is abnormally high. According to the Sports Illustrated report Mosley’s last dose of EPO was given on September 8th which was five days before the scheduled bout with De La Hoya.

    EPO
    (erythropoietin)

Erythropoietin (EPO) gained notoriety in 1998 when a bunch of cyclists in the Tour de France got caught in possession of it.

EPO increases RBC in the blood. This will basically raise your energy levels (Cancer. 2003 Sep 1;98(5):1072-9), and thus will improve recovery, etc... A50 was developed for a very similar purpose as EPO, and I suspect that a lot of the muscle enhancing effects/potency of A50 (increased muscle fullness, etc...) can be attributed to the much of same mechanisms which are at work in EPO. Its worth noting that EPO increases protein synthesis, just like A50 as well. Primarily, though, its effect is to increase RBCs.

Having more RBCs, thus having more oxygen delivered to muscle tissues is directly associated with a substantial improvement in athletic performance, i.e speed, endurance, strength, etc...(Sports Med. 2003;33(3):187-212.). EPO is associated with improved bodyweight, exercise capacity, oxygen uptake, respiration, whole body metabolism and energy efficiency (Semin Oncol. 2002 Jun;29(3 Suppl 8):69-74) In addition, cognitive function (learning, etc...)is also improved with EPO(Clin Breast Cancer. 2002 Dec;3 Suppl 3:S116-20).

Ok... so how much do you take? I´d say you´ll need about 8,000-10,000IU for 2 weeks. That´s it. You take it all at once over 2 weeks (maybe a little over 1,000IU or so per day for 14 days) and then that´s it. Then, sometime in week 3, you´ll start feeling the results...which will last...for 3-6 months! Yeah, you read that right.

Watch your BP, and don´t let it get out of hand, because that could mean your hematocrit is getting too high... and remember to keep well hydrated to avoid any possible issues with clotting & keep some aspirin on hand just in case you find that you need to thin your blood out a bit.

First of all, it’s a very strong androgen as well as progestin (1), but I doubt it has much potential for bodybuilders. This seems contradictory at first, but I think that if you were to really use this stuff to gain the kind of weight that is winning bodybuilding shows or to get as ripped as current judging standards require, you would need to take an amount of this stuff that would surely cause progesterone related side effects.

On a milligram for milligram basis, I would suspect it’s probably going to be very potent and maybe somewhere between 5-10mgs a day would be appropriate. The method of administration for BALCO athletes on the “program” was to take a few drops of it and allow it to be absorbed under the tongue. Personally, I would have liked to see how it performed as a nasal spray, but we will probably never have the answer to that question.

THG, which is essentially 17-alpha ethylated gestrinone, very well to the androgen receptor (like it’s parent compound) (1, 4), and likely produces many of the lipolytic (fat burning) and anabolic (muscle building) effects we typically see with such strong androgen binding, Unfortunately, it also exhibits progesteronic activity roughly 7x as potent as progesterone itself (making it literally dozens of times a more potent progestin than nandrolone). (1) Although it has no ability to aromatize (4) (and I suspect is 5a-reducatse resistant), because of it’s ability to act as a very powerful progestin, I would suspect that it’s ability to inhibit the natural production of testosterone would be literally off the charts. It’s also possible that its powerful ability to stimulate the progesterone receptor was helping athletes “feel” better and less beat up from their workouts.

I still can’t even imagine how badly it must have shut down natural testosterone production, though I would speculate that it’s probably staggeringly suppressive. Perhaps this is the reason it was orally administered, or perhaps this is the reason it was often administered in conjunction with “the Cream” which was a testosterone based transdermal product.

A cream like this would be very useful for any athlete attempting to boost their recovery ability, muscle mass, and strength levels, without getting caught.

According to Conte's declaration, Mosley came to the BALCO offices shortly before his match against Oscar De La Hoya in the summer of 2003, where Conte, Hudson and BALCO employee Jim Valente met with Mosley. "I explained the benefits of using three illegal performance-enhancing drugs commonly referred to as EPO, The Clear, and The Cream," Conte said in his declaration. "Specifically, I explained to Mr. Mosley and Mr. Hudson that The Clear was an undetectable anabolic steroid and that The Cream contained testosterone and epitestosterone. I explained that The Cream was primarily to be used as a masking agent."

Conte wrote that he also explained to Mosley that the doping agent EPO "increases the production of red blood cells, and therefore Mr. Mosley should take additional dietary supplements that aid in the manufacture of red blood cells. ... I further explained that EPO's effects would provide Mr. Mosley with an advantage late in the fight with Oscar De La Hoya."

Conte said he instructed Mosley on how to draw EPO from a bottle with a syringe and how to inject himself in the stomach using a "double-injection" technique. Both Hudson and Conte said in their court documents that Mosley, a former three-division world champion, injected himself in the presence of Conte, Hudson and Valente.

Conte also described a "doping calendar" for Mosley, which listed codes for specific drugs for him to use each day until just before the De La Hoya fight, when he would taper off use of the drugs. "I know that Mr. Mosley was aware that the performance-enhancing drugs provided to him by Mr. Conte were banned drugs because I discussed that fact with Mr. Mosley both during and after our visit to BALCO," Hudson said in his declaration. "Mr. Mosley admitted to me that he knew the drugs provided to him by Mr. Conte were illegal performance-enhancing drugs."

This is flat out disgusting for man to do. The worst part about it is that he is supposed to be Oscars friend.

even though Oscar didn't deserve the win, he wasn't on PED's which is what this thread's about
