nothing special in this fight. people just curious what would marquez do in the ring against a running fighter in ugly boy floyd.

there will be no knockdowns in this fight because neither fighter wanted to get toe-to-toe.

The majority of those discounting this fight are automatically assuming
that Floyd never lost a beat during his two year layoff. That being away from the ring and the spotlight have had no effect on him whatsoever, and that whatever ring rust there might've been will be gone once he puts the gloves on and steps in the ring. (That's one special boxer right there)

Not only that, but they're still discounting that Floyd is coming DOWN to 144, a weight he hasn't fought at in how many years?

Of course, it was ok for Oscar to come down to 147 for Manny, and for Manny to move up to 147, because Manny's real weight is 126/130 and is more likeable.

Yeah, Marquez is the #2 P4P and called out Floyd, but he's too light and is a little shorter than Floyd, so it doesn't count.

After two years off, Floyd should've stepped in there with Cotto or Shane
because any other fighter would be considered a "tune up" and it wouldn't be fair to the fans.

Just like the Hatton fight with Pacquiao being a great test for manny on how he deals with the higher weight & how he sells as a ppv star, this is a important test for Fraud jr as a ppv star on his own right.

He doesnt have a oscar or hatton in this dance. He's gonna be carrying this card on his own star power.

Very interested on how many this draws.

                let's have fun

let's make 2k bet each and the one closest to the official HBO numbers for the US audience wins. winner takes all

                i'd say 525,000 hits
80% from fmj fans, 10% from jmm fans, 10% from curious fence sitters.
i'll put this in "fantasy betting".

Id say 600-700k. With 100% buy rate from the Gay Fish Gangsters aka Mayweather Mafia.

They will promote the **** out of this fight and have the 24/7 playing quite a few times.

With the supposed guarantees they are paying the fighters, they will find a way to make money off of this.

I think it will do pretty well actually, not great but I wouldn't be shocked if it gets more than 800k us domestic.

this is really referendum on fraud jr.'s own star power. Last time Marquez was on ppv without a bonafide star with him, it did less than 100k & was only attended by 3000k fans.

to be fair a mega fight or even a superfight has to have at least 2 stars for it to do really well if your name is not Oscar de la Hoya.

Pac averaged about 350k with his trilogy vs Morales but did only 200,000 vs a non superstar in david diaz. He sold 400k vs Marquez.

Fraud jr. had 365k vs Gatti, 375k vs judah & 300k vs Baldomir.

Thats why it was amazing to see Pacquiao do a reported 830k vs hatton in a bad economy & a fight without a american star.
