Floyd and JMM promoting in London???

I think some die hard boxing fans in the UK might catch this fight, but the promotion in London imho is gonna fail.

If they wanted to do 3 cities, they should did NYC, LA or some city in Texas, AZ or something.

I think it's a waste of money flying two teams out there for a fight that's going to be shown at 4AM over there. I think they should stick to North America. LA, New York, and then maybe let Floyd piss his pants in fear and have a press conference in Mexico City.

I don't think they have enough time to do promotional tours outside the US. The fight is just about 2 months away, they both should be focused on training now.

yeah, mexico city would be the best, but I think they might be too scared of swine flu.

There's more swine flu here in the States now than in Mexico. London makes no sense what-so-ever...I'm with you on that!

LA, NYC and like you said, some city in Texas or maybe Chicago even. Mexico City would've made perfect sense though. Things are fine now and they could've even had it at the damn airport somewhere if they wanted to avoid going into the city.

Why does everyone keep talking about Mexico for? If there is one place they didnt need to go, its Mexico. Do you guys know how these things work? Why go to Mexico when JMM is already huge there and this is his biggest fight? Ofcourse all of them are going to be watching anyways. You would be just wasting your time going there. The reason you go to London is because its turning into a big boxing market even for the US. Sure you dont have any Brits in this fight but you want to keep as many PPV buys over there as possible. If its hot over there then you shouldnt let it cool off just because Hatton is out. Maybe you can steal a fight or 2 with there fans. It might not work but anything you get from there is icing on the cake and who knows, it might work alot. Plus, why would Floyd be scared of Mexico? He's fought alot of them, he went to England for the Hatton presser, and its not like theyre wont be security

This is the best thing Floyd has done.Promotion also includes maintaining a presence in the market and positioning yourself in the people's minds.Floyd is the probably the first person to do such a thing (which isnt surprising considering he is such a trend setter).Floyd is raising his global profile and showing his UK fans he appreciates them. The message is simple ,'The global boxing icon is back'

He has organised an event for the press,he is going to talk to them answering questions and these are the people who write about this fight. While it is good to have a conference in Texas,Floyd doesnt think local but global. He is one of the few boxers with a real marketing strategy. This gives Floyd leverage in negotiating tv rights and future negotiations with other fighters.Floyd might decide to go PPV.Yes there wont be a UK fighter involved but he could still do a lot of buys.
