Two great fighters, but aside from Counterpunching, I believe Floyd can do everything Marquez can and more...
Equally as technically skilled as JMM, but faster, stronger and bigger
Floyd would probably get a UD or possible late stoppage.

Im a big fan of both Mayweather and Marquez. I never thought these two would ever fight. I thought this fight was a joke when I first heard about it.

Marquez has always had trouble with boxers/stick and movers like Norwood, Chris John, Julian Wheeler, Barrera ( I thought he beat Norwood and John) but all of those guys have him some trouble. None of those guys are in Mayeather's league.

But I'm starting to think Marquez can do this. For some reason I always think of Floyd as unbeatable, but he's not. Timing can beat speed and Marquez needs to go in there and time Mayweather's pot shots. Mayweather has really just been moving and pot shotting lately in his fights. Not to mention Floyd hasn't fought in almost 2 years.

It seems Marquez is taking this fight extremely serious. Regardless to what Mayweather says, I think he may just believe he's too big and strong and wins easy. Marquez will probably come ready to fight the fight of his life and I'm not sure if Mayweather will (he may not even need to)

At first I really counted Marquez out, but now I've convinced myself he has a shot. I would like to see him pull it off because I honestly believe he deserves it more than Mayweather does despite me being a fan of both.

True, but I think Marquez has more heart and desire. I think Marquez wants it more where as Floyd might be thinking it's just a tune up.

        Interesting fight.

This is the only way I envision a trilogy fight ever taking place:

Marquez loses a hard-fought decision to Floyd in July. Pacquiao signs to fight Cotto in the fall 'cause he and Mayweather cannot come to terms on money. Cotto derails Pacquiao's momentum and beats him. With not many big-money, big-opponent options, Pacquiao is willing to come back to 135 and fight a trilogy with Marquez in May 2010.

I don't know, there's a lot of things that'd have to occur, but I think that's about the only way it gets done.

as much as i'd like 2 see floyd get his ass wuped, i just cant see marquez even being competitive in this fight. & honestly he might even get K.O'd. Doubt manny would even be interested in a third fight with him. For what? everyone knows marquez cant put up the numbers he needs to 2 get manny interested @ this moment in his career. Theres a big wish list out there of fighters that want manny right now. But Cotto's the front runner like it or not & built perfectly, style, speed & strengh 2 bet manny convincingly.....COTTO NATION BABY only way he can be beat is with plaster lol the fight will be @ a catch weight of 143, remember you heard it first from me

Cotto loses at 143. I really don't believe he can make that comfortably. 145 is as low as Cotto should go.

I'm a big fan of both as well but I think a lot of people are overlooking
that PBF is all business and about winning in the ring. He's not going
to underestimate Marquez. When he goes in the ring it's a whole
different ball game. I see a lot of hate towards Floyd and
people saying that he is this and that but no one can say that
they even hit him more the less even hurt him. Other than Castillo
giving him a hard time, he's dusted guys and out classed bigger
fighters than him. I also believe that he can take a punch flush
and keep his composure and come back stronger. People (Not you)
shouldn't let the PBF hate blind them and just look at the boxer. Once
you do that you will know that he is technically the best and smartest
                in the ring.

I see what your saying. Haters said Floyd shouldn't be dancing with the stars when he was training for Hatton and just focus on the fight. But he still trained hard and put on a great performance. The guys got skills, confidence, and he is all about winning.

I just think Marquez might go in there ready to fight the fight of his life. I'm not so sure if Mayweather is, despite being all about winning. I think despite what he may say that he might be thinking he's just too big for Marquez (which could be true anyway) but if he doesn't bring his A game (can he be on his A game after a layoff) and Marquez brings his A game than Marquez might have a chance.

Pac KO's Marquez in there trilogy, I bet my house, car, 401K all my assests. Trust me, with the media and people saying Pac was lucky to fight a weight drained DLH he used that as fuel to KO Hatton.

For damn sure he's heard that Marquez beat him twice and this time he will show the world. You bet your damn ass he KO's him in a third.
