I figured this. Cloud has loss a ton of momentum with his inactivity. Cloud is a real good fighter, but "lose all respectability" if he doesn't fight him next is ridiculous. Dawson has beaten 3 top 5 contenders and 5 top 30 contenders in all. Cloud? 1

He needs to go fight Clinton Woods and get his ranking up.

After months of waiting, I’m asking you publicly, to act like a champion and give me my shot. Give the fans what they want - an exciting light heavyweight championship bout between two young, hungry fighters.

This second bout with Tarver, who, by the way, has beaten better fighters than you in rematches, is the most unanticipated championship fight of the year. I promise you, and the fans, Dawson vs. Cloud will be something fight fans won’t want to miss and won’t ever forget.

It’s time to pick on someone your own age.

      I’m next."

I find that qualifier kind of funny, mostly because it actually gives the rematch more credence than it should get...

I mean, really, if Tarver ****** at rematches, wouldn't this bout be even worse?

Dawson wants to fight Cloud, but you never know Cloud might pull a 180 and fight Clinton Woods for a final title eliminator. Dawson has said an interview on onthegrindboxing (check for Dawson, Lamont Brewster) that he's willing to fight Cloud, but I still think there is a possibly that Cloud will take a tune-up first, and that will leave Dawson with a voluntary defense. Hopkins doesn't want to fight Dawson, he made that very clear, so I guess that leaves Glen Johnson as the only opponent or fight a catchweight against Mikkel Kessler.
