Plus the simple fact that Quintana went in there and beat Williams the way he did ****ed his chances at getting any immediate fights with any of the other big names. yea he came back and KO'd Quintana, but immediately after there were rumors of fights with Clottey and Margarito but then all of a sudden went up to 154 and 160

Margarito and Arum turned down a rematch. Arum said he wouldn't dobusiness witrh Paul Williams or his team. Clottey is promoted by Arum. So how was that fight going to happen? You do the math and how is that the fault of Paul Williams? And the Quintana fight was years ago(that's getting old too) and last time I checked Williams kicked the **** out of Qunitana who hasn't ben heard from since. You need to come up with some new material to justify your excuses because your logic fails.

to fight because both those division lacked any star power and his team knew that was their chance for their guy to get the upper hand to make a name for himself.

Yea of course Williams is a tough fight, but *****s aint runnin from him, he proved he could be beaten, he just brings nothing to the table yet.

What did Gomez and Jennings bring to the table that Williams didn't other than that were much safer fights? Your bull**** exuses fail. Cotto didn't want any parts of Williams and he was more than willing to hide behind his bodyguard/promoter
Williams voluntarily bounced and vacated his belt LOL. Did you expect the WBO just to say "Ok yea, you can come back and fight for the title again". People forget to mention that little detail but make it as if it was a duck on Cotto's part when the WBO are the ones who offered Cotto the shot at the title. Blame the WBO for that.

I heard him mentioning his name, not sure if there were any negotiations but Cotto has his old belt, not like Cotto beat him to get it, there should be no problem having WBO rank him as mandatory and get a shot at Cotto. Would he do it?

hen there were talks if cotto beat mosley and paul beat quintana cotto vs paul could happen. (you can check that out here on boxingscene read the articles from that time.) What happened? Cotto won Paul lost. THen he had to avenge his lost and cotto was goin to fight vs cintron or marg and they had everything filled and there wasnt 2 many fights that could happen then as paul wanted quintana again. So cotto fought Gomez. Then paul won and Cotto fought margarito. Cotto lost and was off for about 6-7 months. Hes not going to fight the most difficult fight he could take right when he comes off plus Williams vacated the belt. (Its easy really if your having a comeback fight and they tell u its for a title to get back in the mix you would take it 2 dummy) Now thats where we are now. Cottos going to fight another guy no one wanted to fight. HE DOESNT DUCK ANYONE

Your timeline is so full of lies that I won't even waste my time filtering through this ignorance.

Cotto doesn't want smaller fighters, thats why he avoided Paul

Williams is a blown up Flyweight

Jennings didn't have a belt. They fought for the vacated belt ignoramous. And I'm not at all on Williams nuts the way some of you ignorant Cotto fans are. I just shoot down bull****. You act as if cotto died on the cross and came back to life which is typical of most of his fans. And if you think Jennings was better than Winky Wright...that speaks for itself.
