I'm still waiting for my answer.
Arum didn't want that fight either. Margarito was forced to fight Williams as his mandatory or he would have been stripped. They didn't fight because Arum wanted the fight. Don't even begin to get that twisted.

Whether you think it's fear or not it is up to you, but considering there were visibly empty seats at the Winky vs Williams fight, you tell me why Williams hasn't been able to secure any fights.
Because he's a threat. The "people don't know who he is " excuse has grown old and is mostly used by apologist for Cotto and Margarito. More people know and respect Paul Williams more than Alfonso Gomez or Michael Jennings but that didn't stop Cotto from fighting them. Find another excuse because the one you are using is dead.

Plus the simple fact that Quintana went in there and beat Williams the way he did ****ed his chances at getting any immediate fights with any of the other big names. yea he came back and KO'd Quintana, but immediately after there were rumors of fights with Clottey and Margarito but then all of a sudden went up to 154 and 160 to fight because both those division lacked any star power and his team knew that was their chance for their guy to get the upper hand to make a name for himself.
Yea of course Williams is a tough fight, but *****s aint runnin from him, he proved he could be beaten, he just brings nothing to the table yet. He'll call anyone and everyone just to be heard (like 90% of Boxers today do anyway).

[QUOTE=RL_GMA;5070942]Ok how many people do you think showed up to see Paul Williams fight Winky Wright and were there to support Williams? The house was borderline empty and Winky's name is what sold that fight, don't get it twisted.

Margarito and Arum turned down a rematch. Arum said he wouldn't dobusiness witrh Paul Williams or his team. Clottey is promoted by Arum. So how was that fight going to happen? You do the math and how is that the fault of Paul Williams? And the Quintana fight was years ago(that's getting old too) and last time I checked Williams kicked the **** out of Qunitana who hasn't ben heard from since. You need to come up with some new material to justify your excuses because your logic fails.

What did Gomez and Jennings bring to the table that Williams didn't other than that were much safer fights? Your bull**** exuses fail. Cotto didn't want any parts of Williams and he was more than willing to hide behind his bodyguard/promoter

With Gomez and Jennings, nobody doubts both were tune up fights. Personally I would've liked to have seen Cotto fight someone else besides Jennings, but even by then Williams was out of the picture voluntarily.
It'll be funny though when Williams gets to a point where's he's a big name and takes tune up fights. I'm sure people will think he's scared of somebody LOL
