I think he was. Then he fought Jeff Lacy and he gained more confidence, that's when he decided to fight in America finally so he first took care of bika and Kessler in his homeland of course and then fought in Vegas but of course he had his people come with him. Then he fought Jones who was shot at The Garden.

Now that he's ranked at the top of the sport, he realizes the responsibilty of fighting the other true top guys and the spotlight is really on him so he retires. Joe Calzaghe aint ducking Chad Dawson or anybody, the lights are too bright for him.
