Pavlik Returns to Middleweight with Hopkins Out of Mind

By Dave Sholler - October 18, 2008 is a date that will always haunt middleweight champion Kelly Pavlik. Moving up to 170-pounds for the first time since becoming a star, Pavlik was expected to dominate the aging Bernard Hopkins on that fateful night in Atlantic City. [details]

If Rubio can hurt Pavlik early, he can bring back some bad memories from the Bhop fight. His only chance is to try to swarm Pavlik quickly and get him discouraged. I don't see it happenin tho.

Yup. Pavlik had an insane fan backing before the Hopkins fight, now a lot of people have written him off completely. Thats the ebb and flow of an average fan.

Wlad Owns is the biggest band wagon jumper on this forum. When Pavlik beat Taylor in the first fight Wlad made a thread about Kelly being the next Marciano{He meant it as a compliment} and then when Pavlik lost to Hopkins Wlad called him a disgrace.

It's just you. Come to Youngstown this weekend and see for yourself if the hype is gone. The hell with all the bandwagon jumpers, Pavlik's true fans have and always will be there, the rest will be back when he resumes cleaning out the middleweight division, starting tomorrow night.
