EDIT: WBO moved the dead guy up it's rankings not IBF, WBC was in alot of controversy with Don king and WBC almost died after the Roy Jones debacle, IBf kept Judah as Champion after losing to Baldo, Bob Arum once stated he had to pay off the WBA for rankings & a WBA judge once went on sports illustrated and said the president of the WBA "encouraged" him to support certain fighters

Btw, I fancy a punt on my boy PW for 10k, would rather line the pockets of someone I respect, sig it?
I agree with your ratings view. The good thing about the IBO is that their rankings are objective as they are computerized (in a better algorithm than boxrec). The bad thing about the IBO is their champions and their existence as another alphabet org. in itself.

Yeah yeah. I'll take Winky again. I don't even like him so much and doesn't really fancy his chances to much due to inactivity but hell.... what are the points for anyway?

The only ranking I really consider is 'The Ring' , but the worst of the 4 main sanctioning bodies has to be the WBO.

Note* I would be proud to hold any of the 4 major world titles and would want to be considered a legitimate world champion as well if I were to have earned one.

All of the belts have had some sort of scandal at some point, although the WBO is generally the least important of the main belts.

Although, saying that, its the fighter that makes a belt important, so we could have a situation where the WBO have the most worthy champion and the other alphabet titles are held by lesser fighters.

I personally prefer the Ring belt.

The WBA corrupt? Are you kidding me??? They made the incomparable Danilo Haussler mandatory for Mikkel Kessler. After Haussler they promoted Gusmul Perdomo who happens to be Venezuelan where the WBA takes office..........

They also got SUPER champions, REGULAR champions, INTERIM champions, GETTHEPHUCKOUTAHERE champions all in the name of the honest buck.

Ottke actually fought a lot top guys. the problem? Ottke got gifts, and was allowed to keep his title multiple times.

Beyer faced ok guys too, and didnt have that many consecutive title defences anyway. he fought Bika, Green, Woodhall and Lucas. and he kept his title sometimes because of BS too.

that Gregorian guy successfully defended his title against about 4 people that Ive ever heard of(Jakubowski, Martinez, Pituala and Zegan), and only 1 of them was actually ok(pituala). and then he ran into a good fighter in Freitas, and it was bye bye.

the IBF kept Judah as the champ only because Baldomir forgot to pay their sanctioning fees going into the fight. which I sort of can understand. If you stop paying any of the belts, theyll drop you, and Im fairly sure its always been that way.

the WBC is very fishy sometimes.

All of this is complete bollocks. They are all **** at it,and the 'big' four are all completely corrupt, the reality is that we are stuck with all of them because they all coin it in.The ring belt has probably got the most Kudos at the moment, and as has already been said here, the IBO has probably the fairest way of ranking fighters, but lump them into the mix and you end up with 6 different 'World' titles at each weight.Boxing is a fantastic sport, but it has and continues to be systematically buggered by fat greedy businessmen that have got f.uck all regard for either the reputation of the sport or the welfare of the fighters
