      This **** really shocked me. The thing is imagine if the plaster was found after the fight and Mosley was seriously damaged. Do you think he should be sent to prison over it? I think so.

      Boxing is a dangerous sport already without this type of **** going on. And if he is found guilty, which is extremelly likely, what about his previous fights? If he's found guilty i hope Captevilo and Margarito openly admit if they've used the plaster before. For the sake of our sport, i hope they admit if they've used it before.

      But one thing which we cannot forget is that Mosley didnt take many punches from Margarito. Cotto and Cintron took some punishment. This also comes into question as Margarito could argue that he was consistently landing on Cotto and Cintron throughout the fight. He may bring this arguement in when trying to justify his previous victories.
      "Illegal Handwrapping" isn't a crime buts its against the boxing rules.

      And in my opinion even if it was plaster that was in his gloves we may never know if he used it before. Margarito has never been a puncher. Nor, has any of his wins been out of the ordinary. Now if he had lets say Trinidad power or Tyson power, his legacy may be into question. But Margs won all his fights with will and taking some to dish out some.

      Don't think he'd be charged with felony.

      What is your stance on Shane Mosley? And his Steriod use, which he can already be prosecuted for battery and assult. What should his punishment be?

        I wouldn't use the Williams fight as an excuse but as an "example" of the non=plaster effect and no use of plaster.

        A Margarito fan has an opinion and haters call it an excuse, laughable.

        So you agree Margarito is a cheater using plaster??

        Margarito is a cheater if he in fact is FOUND GUILTY of using plaster

          This is true, thanks for the clarification. I forgot about the distinction.

          It is going to be incredibly hard to prove battery in previous fights without a witness or two. The assault charge would in fact likely stick (again, if he actually did what is being alleged) but I think the commission may just go forward with a suspension rather than press criminal charges because frankly, the state is in a financial mess and doesn’t need the high-profile court case. We will see...

          For anyone who is interested, here are the elements of the crime that need to be proven for assualt:

          Elements of California Assault Law
          Penal Code Section 245

          1. The person charged with assault performed an act that by its nature would directly and probably result in the application of force to a person;

          2. The person charged with assault did that act willfully;

          3. When the person charged with assault performed the act, he was aware of facts that would lead a reasonable person to realize that the act by its nature would directly and probably result in the application of force to someone;

          4. When the person charged with assault performed the act, he had the present ability to apply force to a person;

          5. If self-defense is at issue, the person charged with assault did not perform the act in self-defense or in defense of someone else.

            The outcome may just result in some stern punishment for Margo and Capetillo since the pieces that "fell out" of both gloves were found and confiscated prior to the fight taking place, preventing a possible life threatening incident.

            So Margo may not be banned from the sport long term. I could be wrong.

            I think the penalty would be much worse if the evidence was discovered after the fight.

            The intention is what will also be in question during the proceedings.

            In any case, making a close observation of the process of hand wrapping, one must ask: What normally falls out of hand wraps that is not secure to either the wraps, the tape, and the gloves themselves prior to and at the end of the hand wrapping session?

            The answer would most likely be gauze.

            In my view, two old pieces, of loose gauze that were hardened (blocks), with an old blood stain, and tightly packed in the wraps, is evidence of tampering with intention to cause harm.

            No doubt the inspector who signed off on the first wrap might be considering a change of careers.

            Then again, it's still only an "alleged" act of tampering at this time.

              honestly, unless theres a huge lack of planning and comunication on the margarito camp, in case there really was a plaster like substance, the worst thing he can be accused of is attempted assault with a weapon....

              he is already cleared from all of his fights by the respective comissions...(suspecting the comission is pure speculation, nothing can be proven), and he lost the mosley fight with legal wraps, so his record is not gonna be changed..............

              the only way i see this getting bigger is if they try to blame it on someone and that someone gets pissed and **** them out on previous fights and ****.........of course that wouldnt prove anything outright, since you could question that persons motifs(though i sure the badwagon of haters would jump on this like flies on a ****), and youll have to go to a fulll blown trial.......lol

              we'll know the truth soon enough though

                Most folks will naturally "assume" he loaded his gloves in prior fights. So that charge will not likely stick without a burden of proof beyond a reasonable doubt.

                He can't avoid the current charges so easily.

The pats taped their opponents, a marathon runner didn't really run the whole marathon, shane used steriods, vargas used steroids, tito had illegal wraps, gsp is beign accused of vaselining his whole upper body in bjpenn fight, jordan used to push off, ewing used to hook you with the elbow, sprinters used steroids, chineese gymnast were too old etc etc etc! It's sports and people whatever they can to give them the best chance.
                  example dlh vs floyd:

                  dlh made floyd:
                  agree to his money
                  fight on cinco de mayo
                  let dlh choose his gloves
                  let dlh choose the ring size
                  made floyd come up to 154
                  Blocksof plaster in each glove that have been used approximatley 15 times is pretty serious ***in offense. He needs to be suspended for life and fined heavily or even be charged legally.

                  Margarito is a CHEATER! He and his fans should all be ashamed of themselves. A disgrace and black eye to boxing...

                  Its like robbing a bank, returing the money after getting caught, and expecting to get away with it....
