Did Mayweather really dominate all the divisions he was champion in?

Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a great fighter and he has a good resume.

He also was arguably the best fighter in most of the divisions he fought in but I see it posted a lot on here that he ruled every single division he was in or he dominated every division he was in except 154.

    I don't agree.

He was certainly the best in those divisions and at super featherweight and lightweight he certainly beat the next best fighter in the division but did he really dominate and clean out any division?

Did he even clean out 130 and 135 let alone any division above that?

            Let's start at 130......

He beat Genaro Hernandez for his 130 belt in 1998. He was 130 champion from 1998-2002.

In those 4 years or so he only fought 2 top ranked super featherweights.

Genaro when he beat him for the title and Diego Corrales who was ranked #2 behind him and in some years ranked #1 above him.

For a couple of years there Joel Casamayor and Acelino Freitas was ranked right there behind Floyd Mayweather and obviously fights with those 2 were never made.

Would you consider Floyd's run at 130 dominant or considered it cleaning out the division?

He was the best at 130, no question. Soon as he won the title he knocked off the man considered his biggest threat in his next fight. Plus, made eight defenses of his title.

At 135, he beat THE man in the division and should rightly be considered the man who ruled lightweight during that time.

                That's where it ends, unfortunately...

yeah see i agree with you on this.

i always thought floyd dominated 130 and 135 but not the divisions above but people keep bringing it up and looking up on it i don't know.

he certainly beat the next best fighter at 130 and 135 in diego and castillo but even at 130 his resume is not as impressive to me looking back as i thought it was.
