He will be retired by the time he's 32. Hopefully he gets some decent names instead of stiffs like Ukral and Gomez.

Is Miguel Cotto Great? Why?

Cotto is overrated in my opinion. His popularity and fighting style has created a lot of bias opinion about him. People had him ranked number one welterweight before fighting any one relevant in that division like Marg, Paul, Joshua, and Cintron further more to suggest he would have a good chance against Floyd was/is at the moment ridicules. As soon as he stepped up to proclaim as the number one welterweight he was beaten to say the least. Now people are talking about a trilogy with Marg before we have seen Cotto back in the ring since his defeat. People are setting themselves up again for disappointment and increase of sour g**** posters like the after math of July 26. That should have been wake up call to all Cotto delusional fans(no disrespecting his real fans) that Cotto is still only a contender at the moment. Please note that this does not reflect my opinion on Cotto as a person or to the Puerto Rican people for which I have a lot of admiration and respect for.

No...and he would have to beat Margarito 2 times to change my opinion and I highly doubt he will.

He isn't great yet, but he definitely is fun to watch. These days boxing needs more fighters like Cotto and less fighters like Mayweather.

He has the potential to be. If he retires tomorrow? No. If he smokes Jennings, losses the rematch to Margarito and is never elite again? No. If he beats Jennings and wins the rematch with Margarito? He will be well on his way.
Cotto has been fighting top notch competition for years now, and his only loss has been to Tony. If he can come through with some more amazing moments in the years ahead, he will be remembered as a Great.
At this point, it is far from decided.
