Difference is, speed and reflexes are things that can be honed and perfected into using as weapons when it comes to fighting. How can u train your actual brain to be able to take a blow? Some people can take it (such as Margarito), and some cant. You can learn to roll with the punches and less the impact of them, but its different if you're hit flush.

That skinny looking Labamba kid that Berto fought had a pretty solid chin too. He took some heavy, heavy shots from Berto and kept on coming. Eventually it was stopped, but i didnt expect him to last as long as he did with the shots he was taking.

Well, MARG is a middleweight hiding in the 147 lb division so it is only expected he can take the punches of natural welters or fighters who moved up from lower weights.

MARG is good but I think he is too hyped. Great fighters move divisions and challenge themselves to fight bigger fighters. MARG tried to move to 154, saw he cant be as bad a bully as he was like in Welter, and subsequently moved back down.

You dont just wake up with a solid chin! you build it up by sparring and going to War in the gym's.

Ok but flip the coin for a second. Every fighter try's to hone their speed to his max potential but some fighters are just gonna be faster than others. No ammount of training is ever gonna make Oscar De La hoya as fast as Pretty Boy Floyd. So really we are still talking about the same thing.

Against elusive fighters, Marg will look silly. It was Cotto, who is not particularly known for his speed or elusiveness, and he was able to make Margarito look foolish for the first 6-7 rounds. This is why i say that Floyd has the ability to box circles around Margarito.

                Your thoughts?
I pretty much agree, there is always a place for not so skilled, granite chinned fighters, and I don't take anything away from Margarito. Its entertaining seeing different types of styles and physiques square off against each other. Slick, elusive fighters, like you said would be a problem for him. Floyd would UD him pretty convincingly I think.

Nonsense. That is genetic. If that were the case, most everyone would have a solid chin.

So actually, yes, you do wake up with a solid chin.

Exactly! Thank you. If having a solid chin is something that you can develop with training, then EVERYBODY would have solid chins.
