    Who did Calzaghe ever dodge?

I'm fed up to the back teeth that so called "boxing fans" on here blame Calzaghe for not having the big names on his record. He never dodged anyone, if anything, they dodged him. They had their own little merry go round, fighting each other for 5 to 10 million dollars and Joe was dangerous but not a "big name". It was all about the money, why would they take a chance against a dangerous young fighter who wasn't a "name" and risk falling off the gravy train?

Calzaghe battled his way into the "big time" by schooling the "Great American Hope" Jeff "Left Hook" Lacy, so Joe could no longer be ignored. He had his shots against B Hop and Jones Jr. and beat what was put in front of him. Whether he would have done the same in their prime or not is not the issue, they dodged Joe, not the other way round.

I honestly dont think he dodged anyone. He always wanted the bigger fights with guys like hopkins and Roy when they were primed. But Frank Warren didnt let it happen.

i agree with robjr, frank wanted to keep calzaghe inside england, and away from the top contenders in other countries.

why didn't he leave him until the end of his career? he must not have been too frustrated with warren if it was completely his fault for him not getting all the fights. they both have to be blamed, you cant put it all on warren and none on joe.

But you can't put it all on Joe/Warren when he was calling out guys who refused to fight him.

Hopkins priced himself out, so did Taylor, and Jones didn't want to know.

Johnson decided Joe wasn't "box office" enough after he knocked out RJJ.

Joe had made offers to fight all of these people, none of them wanted to know.

Is that really Joe's fault, or did they just not fancy it?

Joe pulled out of a fight with Johnson twice. Fact.

            Nice spin though.

No rematch with Hop. I gave props to Joe on both victories over RJJ, and Hop. Want to cement it in my eye's? Fight a young lion? Fight Dawson. No Joe hate, but it would raise him WAY more in my eye's if he took the fight.

Can't we drop all this ****. We have gone over this stuff 10,000 times. There is nothing new on the topic so what is the point of constantly repeating ourselves?
