      You have to see what's on the ballot before you make a statement like that and realize that the top 3 vote getters get in. He isn't within a nut hair of the top three on the ballot this year. The only shoo-in is Lennox and this should be a great year for older guys who've waited for years (like Lloyd Marshall).

            i know the britts got behind him in their small boxing world but his resume is so week! but i still think his clownish performance when he got exposed by barrera would eventually get him in for laugh and giggles.

            i mean the wired haired wonder DK got inducted last year so why not hamed!

Hey don't get me wrong Gatti was a ture warrior and had a true warrior heart and was a great fighter but Naz was overall the much better fighter, Gatti never undisputed one weight, never was a pound for pound fighter,Naz beat the better names and Naz's only defeat was to one of the best in Barrea, Gatti was beaten by decent and some half decent fighters in King Solomon,Ivan Robinsonx2,Micky Ward,Alfonso Gomez, and some of them loses were in his prime all of them haven't lifted a world title.And both have not been angles outside the ring either.so no one has the edge in that deparment.

                  Barrera retired Hamed. It's amusing how his supporters point to the fact of only a single defeat when that shouldn't be the reasoning behind the decision at all. He did not have the heart to come back from defeat and try to regain his lost stature. He instead simply dropped out of the sport after failing his most critical test. If he had remained and succeeded to some extent, he would probably be a viable candidate. As it stands, he should not be inducted.

                    The only belt he held for a long time was the WBO. He never held any other belt for a real significant time.

                      I probably didnt explain myself properly, apologies.

                      It doesnt change that he was the man in that division for a long time, and beat all the other titleholders.

                      my point is that people go into the HOF for less, and when people say that fighters like Gatti (whilst entertaining) go in there for what they bought to the sport. A lot of people will not remember (because of their ages, not their fault) that the lower divisions were a completely different place before Naz came along.

                      In hindsight he may not have been THE greatest during his period, but he also bought a whole lot to the sport. So IMO either way he deserves his place. i have no doubt he'll be there eventually.
