Correct me if im wrong but this is a Taylor thread, no?

You made a comparison between Taylor's next fight and Calzaghes next fight when in reality, a shot Roy Jones...... in a wheelchair with Parkinsons is a better fighter than a shot Jeff Lacy.

And like I said, Taylor and Calzaghe are at different stages in their careers. Taylor hasnt proved anywhere close to what Joe has so the comparison is lame and invalid.

Still no answer for Joe's lack of integrity, I see. Instead you keep revisiting Taylor vs. Calzaghe from a career standpoint, which was never in question as far as I'm concerned.

Also, as a side note, this past spring it was reported (on this site, I believe) that RJJ briefly flirted with a Jermain Taylor matchup. Eventually it would seem he looked the other way when Joe Calzaghe's checkbook came calling. So say what you will about Taylor's next opponent (the man who made Calzaghe a household name), but the facts are he was going after bigger fights and they didn't come to fruition.

You said Joe didnt have the integrity of Taylor for fighting Pavlik. When in reality Taylor fought Pavlik for the payday which is exactly why Joe is fighting Jones. So theres my answer.

Eubank made Calzaghe a name. Would he be a credible opponent for Taylor?

What I said was that Taylor is being up front for his reason for fighting Lacy, just as he was for taking the first fight with Pavlik (money).

Calzaghe on the other hand is taking every opportunity to trash Kelly Pavlik and talk up Roy Jones as the better fight. The same Roy Jones he slammed in his book. We all know Joe is fighting Roy for the money, meanwhile he's acting like it's also the most challenging fight that will do the most to boost his status, which is bull****. I'd be intersted to see what was on the table for Calzaghe/Pavlik vs. what's on the table for the Jones fight. I doubt there's much difference, if any. And I wouldn't assume that it favors Jones.

Actually Calzaghe has more than often stated he was going after the money. When confronted by Carl Froch, he said it depended on the money. When asked if he'd fight again after Jones, he said "show me the money". Which, lets be fair, he has every right to do after being avoided and not being able to land a big fight for years. Jones is the harder fight in my opinion anyway.

Taylor has had everything served up to him on silver platter by HBO even though he hasnt proved anywhere near what Calzaghe has.

Like I said from the start, bad bad comparison

Taylor may have a decent run, but there are a few guys at 168 who will likely smoke him out.

As far as criticisms of fighters go "lack of integrity" is a pretty desperate one, especially so in this case as the only way it becomes valid is if we choose, yes choose to believe every word Frank Warren and Kelly Pavlik say about Joe, and none of what Joe does, when there is no evidence either way.

I expect a really good performance from Taylor and he can be the king of SMW

Yes he's admitted that he's in it for the money, but he's also tried to sell RJJ as a more meaningful fight to his legacy than a hypothetical fight with Kelly Pavlik would be, which is hilarious because Pavlik is the fight most fans want to see and most agree would earn him the most respect were he to win.

That was my point from the beginning, when I said Joe could go on to prove more than he has, and him trying to act like a Jones fight accomplishes that better than Pavlik fight is pure BS.

No worries - a Calzaghe fanboy is the last person I would expect to understand.

                      Oh, and welcome back.
