Yeah, you left some things out...

Pavlik = "Slow, very good skillset, predictable, comes straight forward, but has the heart of a bear and the willpower of a King.

Taylor = Excellant boxer, very good power, gasses early

Winky = Old, should never have left 154, isn't as offensive as he needs to be but with a defensive ability and calm inside the ring that is almost without peer.

Haha. I was explaining why they lose to Calzaghe, not attempting a rounded critique of their styles! I don't agree that Taylor is an excellent boxer or that he has exceptional power, and I don't know if Pavlik's heart and willpower have really been tested sufficiently, although coming back from the KD against Taylor was good. I agree Winky is a good defensive boxer, but I would have saved the 'without peer' comments for Mayweather.

A guy like Roy Jones in his prime...B-Hop in his prime....I also think Winky could take him.

all you have to do is look at the fights hes had a hard time in.

He does badly against counter punchers, thats obvious enough. The Reid and Hopkins fights showed that. they sit back, let him lead, and hit him when hes off balance. its worked fairly well against him.
Guys with very good right hands would have success with Calzaghe too, because he has always been a little open to that punch throughout his whole career.
Then you have rough fighters. hes had some bad showings against guys who can effectively back him up, grab and hit, be in his face constantly doing something. no, thats not Lacy...Lacy was always 1 punch at a time guy who actually tended to keep his distance a lot of the time. he never really worked that much on the inside. Im talking about guys like Bika and Salem, and to a degree Reid and Hopkins again. you could kind of put Mitchell in that catagory, but eh.

Roy Jones at his age and in his condition is none of these things. I have no idea why some people think that Jones has a chance.

I guess it would kinda come under more stamina though, If he could have we would have thrown more. B Hop = Jesus

Joe Calzaghe can be done in the same manner

He has a high workrate but opponents can shrug off his punches.
Since moving to LHV he has slowed down dramatically.
I feel he has become soo confortable with his slap routine he becomes very flat footed after setting up.
Calzaghe at his age and at LHV is not quick on his feet at all.
He cant provide any type of threat to Kelly pavlik thats why Pavlik cant wait to knock his block off.

Jermaine Taylors boxing skills and speed are better than Calzaghes, I could see Jermaine troubling Calzaghe to the point of KO.

You say Taylor gasses early but he went a tough 12 rounds with Kelly pavlik in his last fight and gave it his all.

That fight couldve went either way. I say both Taylor and Pavlik beat Calzaghe

Calzaghes age is definitely catching up with him and he knows fightign a young prime fighter with quicker reflexes and hunger to dominate will overcome him.

Lets face it Calzaghe will only look impressive by defeating has beens because he is on the brink of becoming one himself.
