well if it was olympic scoring b-hop would have won a clear cut decision since they dont count slaps in olympic fights

the thing is it wasn't the olympics.

It was the pros so that comment was pointless.

You should compare Calzaghe's record, and that of his opponents with other fighters you consider to be in the same class. Criteria should be KO percentage, early KO percentage, and that of their opponents. Even without using any names at all, you see some very surprising things. I won't spoil it, check it out yourself.

As for being a fan of Calzaghe....yep, I am. The guy is impressive. So is HOpkins. Though I despise the man Hopkins, I have to respect the fighter and his accomplishments. I'm also a fan of maybe 2 dozen other fighters, not just those guys who are popular, but those who strike me as unique for one reason or another. I can't think of any boxer that I actually hate....wait, Ruiz I suppose, but hey...doesn't everybody? Anyway, I'm a boxing fan, first and foremost, and if you're looking for someone to be non-bias and impartial, then I'm the guy you're looking for. In my opinion, you're far more guilty of being anti-Calzaghe than I am of being Pro-Calzaghe.

My motto? Neither a nutsucker nor a hater be.

Maybe one or two of you will "get" that motto, maybe not. I keep forgetting what crowd I'm fraternizing with here.
Well I like you already. I don't HATE Calzaghe I find his fans very VERY annoying and cry babyish. I'm not a fan but i'm not a Hater. Yet I try to be at times to get them all worked up for no reason what so ever.

I know of most the fighters Joe has faced by seeing re-plays. I've never seen him live and I don't know all of them by name or the history of some but I have seen most. Some of his first fights I cant find at all. But its like watching anyone decent in there early career. People talk of Jones fighting nobodies, when he KILLED everyone. PAV did the same thing with his 90% KO rate, even HOP KO'ed people early in his career. He doesn't even hit that hard unless the guy his smaller.

Like I said a lot of decent fighters have that kind record with impressive KO's early on. Its impressive but almost expected now days. I mean Joe knocked a guy out in the first and then fights him again to what, KO them in the 5th? Wasn't much of a challenge IMO. But it adds up for people to talk so highly about down the road. I mean even the Manfredo fight added to his TKO%.

I will say I'm no expect on all the opponents Joe has faced but I have seen most and did research. Nothing to crazy but enough to get a good personal opinion on Joe. Some guys on his record I didn't even know existed, probably due to the fact I live in America and not Wales and as many people say he fought a lot of nobodies with only a few decent in between.

Anyway my point was that early on Joes KO rate was due to the opposition that was put in front of him (his fault? maybe not) as is by most fighters in there start. Later on when he faced or started to face so called "top fighters" he has done nothing but look to outpoint them. Point being was back in my very first post I stated HOP knew this style and looked to SPOIL it, HE did so and did SO very easy and made joe look average. But like abadger said he couldn't do both to win and he was in fact right.

Who cares if Calzaghe got the decision? It was a pathetic way to win. He got put on the floor and slapped like a sissy the whole fight. He cemented his legacy as a slapping coward who could never hold his own against a prime BHop.

Close and indecisive, but fair. Joe didn't beat Bernard up he just outworked him. And this is old news. Both guys have fights comin up.
