Roy Jones is the only fighter Hopkins fought that was better than Calzaghe.

    And he lost comfortably.

And the best fighter BY FAR calzaghe ever fougth was a 43 year old hopkins.

Lacy. Kessler. 43 year old hopkins.

      What a legacy.

But hey at least he ducked Glen Johnson 4 times.

i disagree. glen johnson (boxing politics screwed him from being regarded amongst the best of his generation).

trinidad. far better fighter than joe at 154, 160 was above his best weight but he was still better than joe imo.

pavlik. losing to martinez is no shame, atleast he challenged himself against top fighters in their prime unlike some fighters i know..

i rate tarver above joe too.

wouldnt be surprised if pascal ends up a better fighter than calzaghe one day either.

The only one in your list that has any credibility is Trinidad.

calzaghe imo is the most overrate fighter ever. lacy is amongst the worst fighters to ever call himself world champion, hopkins beat him imo, roy was shot to shit which leaves kessler, a good but ultimately very flawed, protected and overrated fighter.

tarver has glen johnson, roy jones and eric harding on his resume.. far better imo.

pavlik knocked out taylor which shits on anything joe ever did, im not saying he achieved more than joe at this point but its just a matter of time.

glen johnson wouldve been amongst the 5 best of his generation imo if its wasnt for boxing politics. most of his career he was so underpaid he worked construction on the side and still competed at the top level. he never got a fair chance and still reached the top, we can only guess how good he wouldve been if he wasnt screwed over at every turn.

and lets not forget he still KOd RJJ, beat dawson the first time (imo), beat tarver and holds a long list of wins over b class fighters like yusuf mack, allan green, daniel judah etc (all better fighters than lacy was).

pascal already has wins over diaconu and dawson, and even though he lost u gotta give him some credit for the froch fight, hes not past joe yet ofcourse but he will.

joe is mostly hype. u can think its hilarious all u want but deep down i think all u brits really know that. how could u not? same thing goes for haye, hatton and most of your crap fighters.

I agree with the Ottke thing. Ottke has robbed more people than the federal reserve. I shudder to think how many losses hed have if those fights were in the UK or US.

But your Roy Jones accusation is absurd. There is nothing Joe wanted more than a big money payday with Roy. Roy never returned his calls and did absolutely nothing to make the fight happen. Roy didnt "accept" until he was broke and desperate, otherwise he wouldve continued to duck Joe.

If you werent a garbage man or security guard you couldnt get a fight with Jones in the late 90/ 2000s

You're hilarious. That same Pavlik was destroyed and humiliated by Hopkins just one fight after Hopkins had lost to Calzaghe. And the Calzaghe-Hopkins fight was very close but to pretend it was a robbery is ridiculous. All the judges were American, and HBO, The Ring, and most other boxing experts scored it narrowly to Calzaghe. And if Hopkins hadn't been allowed to take two long rests by the referee when he auditioned for an Oscar after phantom low blows, he would have been humiliated in the late rounds, because he was totally gassed.

The fact is, Pavlik has never been able to cope with any fighter who has good footwork and lateral movement, he's a strictly come forward fighter. And Calzaghe had very good footwork and a lot of lateral movement. Anyone who pretends that Pavlik is a better fighter than Calzaghe is simply *****eting their complete and utter ignorance of boxing.
