Does anyone think Pavlik doesnt really care about the Taylor rematch?

pavlik has already made his name and captured the title. his management is looking forward to his title defense in june. i think pavliks team got way too hyped up off that fight, with all the praise they got, most people forget he was losing on all the cards. i mean you look at the sept fight and the reason pavlik got up because it was his biggest fight and he simply wanted it more. this upcoming fight doesnt really matter for pavlik, only reason it was made was due to taylors rematch clause. pavliks team was already scheduling with duddy before taylor accepted the rematch. but taylor needs it to reestablish his career. taylor can easily win a 12 round decision, the hardest part being the 1st to survive 12 rounds with the ghost. im not gonna put money on it tho.

So lets see.. He's been training to become a world champion like every other boxer in the world has been dreaming about.
The first time you go to your gym and lace up the gloves, I think they think to theirself.. "I wanna be a world champion". I think it's like that for MOST fighters.

Pavlik trained his whole life to fullfill his dream to become the world champion, and now he's finally living that dream. Do you think he's just gonna say **** it all ? **** what I've been training for my entire life? no.

Of course the fight matters for Pavlik? what the ****.
Pavlik needs to prove he's a champion and defend his title, even if it is the FORMER champion in a rematch, he's the champion, therefore he defend his title like the champion he is.

      Rid**** Bowe did just that.

I think the thread starter is asking whether Pavlik cares about this fight because it isn't at middleweight... so even if Pavlik loses, he is still the linear, true champion at 160, so he can move back down and still be an incredible star.

No way Kelly is lookin past Taylor. Taylor almost had him outta there in the 2nd round. If the ref wasn't Smoger.. who knows... maybe the fight would've been stopped..

He's training hard for this fight and I think the outcome will be the same, except it will happen later this time.

Uhhh this may be hard to believe but Pavlik has pride too just like Taylor and he nearly got KOd is rnd 2 of the first fight so I think he wants to make a statement in the rematch...

Of course Pavlik cares about the rematch, even though it's not for the title, he still wants to win the fight. He's representing Youngstown and he doesn't want to let them down with a loss. There are still people saying that the Taylor fight should have been stopped in the second round, as crazylegs said, he wants to make a statement that Taylor can't beat him.

I can't see Pavlik not giving 150% in any fight. If he wins, I reckon Duddy might go on the backburner anyway, especially if Joe beats Bernard, Calzaghe - Pavlik would definitely be on the cards in that scenario.

It would be kind of hard to overlook a guy that almost put you out in the 2nd round.. he is definately focused on the task at hand..maybe his promotion team is looking ahead.. but i doubt him and his trainer are looking past a very dangerous jermain taylor
