This Saturday night, July 21, 2007 at the Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas, HBO PPV, along with Golden Boy Promotions, will telecast a terrific fight between two of boxing’s very best, Bernard “The Executioner?Hopkins and Ronald “Winky?Wright. I have written a lot of articles in the past concerning Bernard Hopkins, he’s my ‘guy,?having been on my radio show quite a few times, we became very good friends. Bernard will never forget that I was one of the very few to not only pick him to beat Felix Trinidad in Don King’s middleweight tournament, but to knock him out, which is exactly what he did. Bernard believes very strongly in loyalty just as I do, I have followed his incredible career since the very beginning, I saw greatness in him from the very start. [details]

my friend i admire ur loyalty good for u ,just as lennox is my guy ,i would agree with u on everything when it comes down to the hopkins that fought johnson and trinidad ,mental i think fathertime has come for b-hop he fight's to cautious these days ,i mean his legacy was on the line against taylor in the rematch i mean i thought he is gonna go out there and fights all or nothing ,see when u finally made the money ur not the same no more very few boxers maintain to be hungry i mean real hungry .b-hop is in a happy place and he deserves it because he is the real deal ,the american dream but i have to say and i went to see b-hop sparring ,winky will be maybe to much as far for throwing punches but like floyd ,b-hop just might prove me wrong and i will be very happy for him in doing so!!!!

Very biased article that. Take nothing away from a true legend like Hopkins but I think in all fairness, call a spade a spade and admit that Hopkins was beaten twice by Taylor and the Roy Jones fight was not in any way a debateable verdict. I think the fight will be close but I fancy Winky to win on points.....

I agree with u except for the fact that u thought Hopkins beat Taylor. No he didn't win, but he gave the first fight away. It's all in the past now and what is going to happen is Winky will get his punk ass knocked by a true tactician. Long Live The Executioner.

he was robbed against taylor the first fight.
he didnt fight the second fight, so i cant argue there.
he will beat winky i think by a UD. hopkins has great offense, great defense, and is stronger at 170 then winky. IMO!
