One of my favorite characters...Max Baer

Pretty nice tribute reel. Did not show many of his KO's, but did capture the spirit of the man...

I see a lot of similarities to Wilder. That sudden frenetic energy. Some say Baer's right was the hardest punch pound for pound...who knows lol.

Baer vs. Cinderella Man would have been a good rematch

      - -Zero similarities to Deyonce.

Deyonce and Charles Martin or any of the new thug generation of fighters about the only common denominators other than being boxers.

There was a gal enthralled with Max who I understand finally published her biography of him.

I see similarities between Wilder and Baer. The powerful right hand and a shortage of boxing skills everywhere else.

There were quite a few gals who were enthralled by Max! lol.

Favorite Max quote: So Max was in the fight with Joe Louis and getting his @33 handed to him, his corner in an effort to cheer him on says "Aww come on Maxie, you got this guy he ain't hitting you for nuthn'" Max then says "Well You guys better watch the ref real carefully because he is beating the crap out of me."

That is how I see it. I do think Wilder is attempting and getting better about setting a few traps, working the jab...

What they say about Max is that after he killed in the ring he stopped hitting as hard, did not want to harm others. One testiment to his punch is that he had no lead in, no real defensive movements. But he managed to catch guys.

You really think so? I don't know...If one takes the movie as accurate about how people felt about that fight, it might have been a supreme let down. How would you top it?
