Contract drawn up, everything in place but for the money and Herbert's fear of Ali's future if wilt beat him.
    Source for your claims?

And btw. Just because an athletes trainer/manager says his protege would win, doesn’t make it gospel. This trainer/manager stood to make a fortune if the fight had been made and he’d have nothing to lose after Wilt had been timber’ed. Ppl would excuse it with it being a basketball player against a p4p boxer.

    Win/win for Cus.

    Lose/lose for Ali.

      - -Never stated as gospel that Wilt would win with this being the dirty tricks of Pro boxing, only that I would favor him.

As to sources, there are a dozen period references and the ABC segment of pre ban Ali in his prime with Wilt in his Prime. Wilt by all appearances looks like the big cat playing with a squeaking mouse.

The reason the Terrell fight got delayed and Ali fought in England, Germany, Lewiston, Houston, and Canada was he was poison for the traditional fight venues because of his NOI affiliation. I thought this was well known by now, but maybe forgotten?

Wilt wasn't a fighter, not in practice, nor in his personality. He was one of the greatest athletes of all time, no question, but he wasn't a killer. He absorbed constant punishment on the court from defenders, and NEVER FOULED OUT OF A GAME. He retaliated physically once or twice to egregious attacks on the court, but that's about it.

Wilt had the athletic tools in abundance, but not the mentality or drive to get in the ring.

And indeed, he DIDN'T take the fight against Ali. Wisely.

Ali has the right muscles trained. Wilt can't train the right ones in time.

Is a hammer fist to the top of the head illegal?

Talk about the need to adapt! Circling from the outside would have been a pathetic technique against the giant.

Did Ali even remotely possess the set of skills needed to move inside effectively and hammer Wilt's willowy torso all night?

Trained by the incarnation of Manny Steward, Wilt will maximize his chances and minimize Ali's advantages by fighting tall to perfection.

Wilt is a head hunter's worst nightmare. Body shots from Ali were more rare than one punch kayos from Chris Byrd.

What is Ali supposed to do?
The same way De La Hoya beat Shaq.

How could Wilt have beaten RJJ on the basketball court?
How could the NFL stop Jimmy Wilde at fullback?
Sonny Liston vs Pee Wee Herman, who wins?
Pee Wee Herman demolishes him!!! I'd fear for Sonny Liston's life and safety.

It was a made for TV amateur style (headgear and all) joke fight with neither guy trying all that hard. They were both old and near retirement- it was in 2009.
