Barrera vs Morales I:Round 5. Who won?

The HBO commentators at the time and many fans since claim Barrera won the round, but I must ask why did he win the round?

Morales landed tons of punches on Barrera and was knocking him around all over the place before Barrera came back with the assault on the ropes. And in the replay, the assault on the ropes showed Barrera landing little and Morales slipping a lot of punches.

Who won it and why?

Barrera won the first 2 minutes,he slowed a bit afterward. the shots you are watching many were picked off or missed by both fighters. Affective aggression also comes into play and that goes to Barerra. not an easy round to score without watching replays of what punches land solidly. I didn't see where Barrera was knocked around.? Some blocked or picked off punches knocked him off balance but 2 minutes to 1....edge Barrera. I thought Morales landed the best punch but that doesn't win the round if you are getting out worked.

I agree for sure. Barrera's flurry on the ropes was fine, but he really didn't land all that much. Knocking a fighter off-balance with one shot and then throwing a ton that miss doesn't beat Morales's many shots that did land and hurt Marco.
