That's about the size of it, the title was very hard won back in those days. By the same token Johnson and Dempsey were better fighters before they won the title than they were as title holders.

In fact, Dempsey did fight a middleweight in Carpentier. Georges was a small man. At the time of that fight, war-dodging Jack was still enough of an anti hero that it made good copy against Georges's heroic war record. Georges and Greb probably would have been a very good fight.

Donald. I always preferred Daffy. Although, I did like their team up in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

greb made any fight good, everybody ducked him in the 20's. he never would have gotten his 160 lb title shot without a lot of deception. greb made it look like he hadn't been training, but had been drinking all the time in order to get his title fight with mob fighter johnny Wilson. after the 1st round Wilson knew he'd been tricked but he probably felt lucky to get out of the ring alive. I wish we had film of the greb-walker fight, two all time greats for the title.

Does any fight footage of Greb exist?

I'm not sure if either one of those is a duck, considering the guys both men did face. Not to mention Johnson's political situation and all this talk of Langford being number one heavyweight contender is a bit far fetched, at what time was this supposed to have happened? 1909? 1910? 1912?

No, none that has surfaced publicly anyway. Plenty of film of his opponents though.
