But the worst announcer in any sport has to be this guy.
How did he ever land that job? Something has to be going on. Does he pay his employers to work? He and his bother became fabulously wealthy by, believe it or not, trademarking Let's Get Ready To Rumble. I have little doubt that Bruce Buffer is a major investor in Dana White's enterprise, which would explain how he got his job and how he has managed to keep it. There is no other explanation.

Even though he was already extremely wealthy, Bruce Buffer just could not stay out of it. He wanted to be a star like big Brother.
First of all, Bruce, big brother had an excellent set of natural chops. You do not. When Mike puts his showbiz hat on, he is only enhancing those natural chops. You have mediocre, average chops, so your showbiz voice is all enhancement and no tone.
He is quintessential what I call Las Vegas phony, from coiffed plumage to silk kercheif to enough ***lery to make an arm run away from home. Then there is his ridiculous sneer, and his snarling.

I like Michael Buffer too. And Bruce still has a job because fans like him. I don't mind him, but don't really love him either. If I'm watching a recording of a fight, I usually chapter skip to round 1 anyway. I kind of lean towards Chuck Hull as a favorite, nice deep voice and no nonsense. Least favorite? I guess Jimmy Lennon Jr. because he sounds a little too nasally. Who was that old time guy that announced Marciano's fights? He seemed pretty good.
