You may be right Sugar Adam they ray Leonards family may have not poor but after the Olympics one of ray Leonards goals was to get endorsements and go to college but his father was ill so he turned pro to help out the family.

I think you're confused with Barrera as 1. Marquez never fought morales and 2. Marquez came from a very deprived area in DF. Barrera came from a middle class area.

The Marquez brothers are from a ****** in Mexico City. There's been a couple documentaries where they talked about how they grew up around gangs and violence and stayed away from it.

Muhammad Ali didn't grow up in poverty. I think he grew up middle-class, or lower middle-class.

Shane Mosley grew up middle-class.
I think fighters like Roy Jones and Floyd Mayweather grew up working class, lower-middle class or whatever you want to call it. A number of other top fighters fit this mold. Not bottom-of-the-barrel in the US like Michael Spinks/Mike Tyson, or third world poor like Manny Pacquiao.

Wlad & Vitali came from a military family,,,their father wasn't wealthy at all. If you watch the Klitschko Documentary they shop the one bedroom house they grew up in. If im not mistaken it was located on a military base.
