Wlad Klitschko & Lennox Lewis both great heavyweight champions. Who fought the better opposition? How do they match-up H2H with common opponents?.. Who ranks highest historically?

They are close in terms of everything. Vlad has had a more impressive career by now, especially if he goes out on a high (unlike Lewis, who chickened into retirement).

Yes Lewis did chicken off into retirement.. But the main difference between Lewis & Wlad which has not been mentioned is. "Wladimir fought opponents who were "At the top of their Game".. Lewis only ever fought exposed fighters and fighters who were on the downside of their career's... This is the BIG difference between Wlad & Lewis... Wlad has fought a long list of undefeated No1 contenders. Lewis never done that, in fact Lewis was stripped of all his belts for refusing to fight the No1 contenders.. There is far to many black marks against Lewis and his career. Whereas Wlad has had an impeccable career. Wlad clearly ranks higher than Lewis.

Every top heavyweight had a couple of borderline moves that gave him an advantage, for example Ali used to Clinch, Tyson used to come in with his head and try to butt his opponent, he used to follow up on some of his hooks by an elbow, Lennix used to hold and hit sometimes and so on, but Wladimir Clinchko has taken it to a whole new level with the clinching, pushing down on his opponents and hitting while holding behind the head, I've never seen a fighter get a way with too many fouls without even getting warned, he has been fighting in Germany for a long time and people here don't know a damn thing about boxing and Klitschko is the only fighter they watch (talk about the brainwashability of these people),So nobody called him out on it, I mean this guy literally intiate more clinches than punches in most of his fights, he had a couple of fights where he didn't clinch so much but I believe if u put him in there with a fair referee against guys who can punch he won't be able to make all these title defenses.
Lewis was a much more talented, more complete fighter than Wlad, I thibk even Vitali is a better fighter than Wladimir.

I agree with the substance of this post. We also are in the minority...I also believe that Vitali is/was better than Vlad.

Actually Wlad hits harder and all around is better technically even Manny Steward had stated Klitchko hits harder and is more talented hes just inconsistent and Lewis was more ring savvy and could adapt better he thought Lewis was his best fighter ever though before passing i saw he made a small quote in a british paper "Wlad is better than Lewis ",you can make an argument for either.Steward also said only two HW's ever had the one punch k.o to put someones lights out instantly in any round with just one punch out of nowhere that was Tyson and Wlad .Personally i think Wlad hits harder then anyone in HW history ,Freddy roach who worked with both briefly felt punch for punch Wlad hit harder.I would side with Lewis but if Wlad surpasses the 25 title defenses its going to be hard not to give it to him.

The hardest hitting fighter in the history of boxing can't even floor Bryant Jennings despite landing flush multiple times. Think real real real real hard on that one.
