Greatest fight of all times?

There's a few that's often being mentioned, but I've always thought Joe Louis - Billy Conn was my favourite.

The unfortunate luck of the underdog, Billy Conn, was just depressing. Or amazing, depending on which side of the fence you were on.

For me, FOTC, first Ali-Frazier is best. Marciano-Walcott 1 is my favorite though.

When you consider what was going on in the world at the time the Louis vs Schmeling 2 was staged I think its significance moves out of a boxing/sporting significance into a political and cultural war setting!!!

Those of you who are to young to understand the world wide terror instigated in Germany by Hitler at that time probably won't understand the fights significance!!! Louis opened up on Max and I never saw a round one like that, the dominance was sustaned as if Joe didn't want Max to fold to soon, devastating performance!

Max was just a pawn in all accounts as to his postion within Hitlers regime!

To me it was the most overwhelming one round in Heavyweight History especially considering the circumstances! Ray.

max and joe became friends with max helping joe out latter in life. Max also risked his life during the war hiding the persecuted.

Fights that I actually had the pleasure of watching live on tv not in any particular order

1. Ben McClellan
2. Bowe Holyfield 1
3. Corrales Castillo 1
4. Barrera Marrales 1
5. Gatti Ward 1

In my mind they are all on par with Ali Frazier 1 although I only saw that fight on video

Ali - Frazier is also one of my favourites, the shift in tide, the knockdown, the occassion and as with other fights like Scmeling-Louis, Cooney-Holmes, Willard-Johnson it also had a lot of racial and political significance. Even though it definitely tanks in top 5 for me, it probably takes 5th because the best fights have an emphatic and unexpected ending - just Like Walcott-Marciano or Louis-Conn.

Hagler-Hearns or Leonard-Hearns get a mention?

Even though te fight itself maybe wasnt the greatest, i really Like Foreman-Moorer too. And Dempsey-Willard.

Ali-Frazier I to me. The two best fighters in the world at the time, two ATGs, at peak, beating each other senseless. Frazier surviving the triple hook...Ali surviving 11...the KD in 15.

Add in the magnitude, and that fight was it. That Manila is an alternate choice for many is unreal.
