    Favorite Boxing Attitude?

    Gotta go with Smokin' Joe Frazier. I just love this guy, in and out of the ring. He was very smart, kept his head outside of the ring (it's very suprising that he didn't leave his gym and beat the hell out of Ali that day), and was a great guy. Unfortuneatly, people judge him on his hate for Ali, even though he deserves every right to hate Ali. My favorite quote of his is "Kill the body and the head will go." Or when Coswell asks him after his second victory over Quarry: "Well, Joe this should throw any thoughts of your retirement out of the window," and Joe laughs and replies "You betta believe it." There's just something about that quote that lets you know what a great guy he was.

    Also, Joe didn't take **** from anyone and didn't play anyone elses's game. One of my favorite moments in his career is in the 3rd round of FOTC, where Ali is laying on the ropes and covering up, Joe graps both of his arms and yanks him off the ropes, saying "Get the hell off them ropes!" It just shows how rough and hard-headed he was.

    Marvin Hagler, the guy was a total pro and a machine in the ring.

    I love that he is still intelligent and articulate and I think he is what many young pro's should aspire to.

    Not sure about his acting though!

      gotta go with ali. his showmanship and dedication to the sport is unparalleled. he was able to regain the title in his thirties after a four year layoff, and from a top 5 all-time hw in foreman. he sold fights. he didn't need a promoter, and all his opponents can thank him, including joe frazier three times over for selling the fight and making them more money than they ever thought possible.

              Watch the 3rd round in FOTC. I ****ing love the part where Frazier grabs Ali by both arms and just yanks him off the ropes and says: "Get the hell off there!" It just shows that he was all business in the ring.

              Ali was great, too. By far the most comically brilliant athlete of all time, and deep down, was a nice guy. Although what he did to Frazier, Terrel, and Patterson was a bit uncalled for.

                ali having the best attitude? what the hell? if your so good, why run your mouth so much? good champions, or other boxers for that matter, are humble.

                  i don't think he was really like that, that was just to make money. he was shy as a child, and a very nice guy in person, and would help you out if you were in trouble.
