Do you think Angelo Dundee's superior cut-man skills were wasted?

in boxing, you need a good cut-man. when a fighter gets cut, it usually looks worse than it actually is, so the ref might stop the fight when it doesn't need stopping. a good cut-man can seal the cut so the fighter can continue. legendary trainer angelo dundee is probably the greatest cut-man who ever lived, and you can watch willie pastrano's fights as proof. however, he was ali's trainer for 21 years, and in my opinion, this talent of sealing cuts was wasted, because muhammad never got cut or barely got cut his entire career. maybe ali should have had another trainer, so dundee could train another fighter prone to getting cut, like for example wepner. what do you think?

I think Dundee brought out the best in Ali. He understood fighter psychology like few trainers do, and used his knowledge in a way that benefitted a guy like Muhammad Ali.

As we all know Ali had a big ego so instead of ordering him to do something, Dunge would suggest it. If he saw Ali land a left hook to the head of an opponent when said opponent made a mistake he would tell him between rounds "Wow that was a good hook, he really can't avoid that punch when you throw it like that" rather than just scream in his ear for him to throw the hook.

Dundee was a great, great trainer who actually cared about the fighters he worked with.
