Dempsey v Willard is obviously the worst to ever be recorded on film, the injuries suffered by Willard were horrendous. ------------------- But this is a sport with many one sided fights...... Freddie Steele v Vince Dundee.... how Dundee lived through that I'll never know.... more knockdowns than Baer V Carnera. --------------------------------------------- the worst beatdown in recent years was Paquiao's complete beating up of Oscar.

Most of Les Darcy's fights were totally one-sided, Darcy won every round against Chip, and the 15th round in the first McGoorty fight was the culmination of a massively one sided fight........... Les knew how to fight.

anybody remember martinez coming out party (ten years after what was supposed to be his coming out party when he was trashed by margarito?)

        Martinez vs bunema

he beat the brakes off of bunema. just a horrible beating
and recently he beat the **** out of dzinziruk
i'll only mention that one because i was there.

neither of these qualify for the worst beating ever

dempsey vs willard gets my vote

the worst beatings come when the guy taking the licking is tough and strong as ****

So Richard Hall went deaf in one ear, had half of his ribs broken, lost 25% of his sight, had his jaw broken, a large dent in his skull, broken nose, broken eye sockets....... come on man, this is a lay down misere, Willard took 'The Mother of all hidings".

i find that seriously hard to believe, are you mental?
biggest load of crap i've ever heard

and it's most one-sided fight, not worst beating(which this definitely wasn't, i seriously doubt it when it only lasted 3 rounds)

                Vitali Klitschko against Danny Williams.

Douglass vs Tyson isn''t even close. I think it has more to do with the shock of unbeaten Tyson losing against a guy of that caliber. But after Tyson scored the knockdown it became a close fight(considering the ancient rule of how you must beat a champion very clearly to win the title)

i had to google this sht, as i have seen the fight and i dont see how the guy could have broken eye socket(s) when both his eyes would have been completey shut

                  here's what i found

The first thing one discovers when putting this theory under the microscope is that the extent of Willard’s reported injuries have been greatly exaggerated. The report quoted by Pacheco and a few others, is based off a medical report by a man who was not a licensed physician! A reputable physician did not examine Willard after the fight.
If one's jaw was broken in 13 places it would be practically impossible to speak and give a post fight interview. But Willard clearly did. The July 5, 1919 NY Times quotes Willard as saying, "Dempsey is a remarkable hitter. It was the first time that I had ever been knocked off my feet. I have sent many birds home in the same bruised condition that I am in, and now I know how they felt. I sincerely wish Dempsey all the luck possible and hope that he garnishes all the riches that comes with the championship. I have had my fling with the title. I was champion for four years and I assure you that they'll never have to give a benefit for me. I have invested the money I have made." Willard not only gives a lengthy interview but refers to his condition as only "bruised" and says he had put others in the same conditon he was in.

But Willard's injuries had been exaggerated by the press. Actually, he had been examined by a doctor in his dressing room and found to have suffered a slight fracture of the jaw and other minor contusions. Willard then drove himself back to his hotel room.

                    Evander Holyfield Vs. Pinklon Thomas.

Again, not one of the biggest beatdowns in history but certainly a one sided beatdown.

Thank God Dundee pulled him out when he did.

Marvin Hagler's shredding of Mustafa Hamsho in their first fight was a memorable one-sided bout. Hagler picked him apart for 11 rounds with very little in return, outside of a headbutt that opened a cut on Marvin. That was nothing compared to the various cuts on Hamsho's face, which would need a grand total of 55 stitches to heal up....
