Forget the titles, WHO did he beat?? He lost to a past prime Carbajal (got koed, no less) and was demolished by Vic D easily. Also got totally outclassed by Mijares...he's just a fighter with longevity and heart but his skills are definitely in question.

I admire Arce for his outstanding tenacity and body punching. but a 'great' is a HUGE stretch. I dont mean to put him down, but talent wise the guy just cant hold a candle to real greats.
I think he is a prime example of how meaningless and misleading belts are in this day and age. and how moving up in weight isnt nearly as big a deal as some people make it out to be. technically he moved up in weight and won more 'belts' than clearly better greats like JCC, Sanchez, Olivares, etc. but to suggest he was greater than them is simply ludicrous.
that being said, I really respect him as a fighter, and definitely think he accomplished much more than many other fighters who had more boxing talent than him.Comment
