Is unifying a divison more impressive than moving up in weight winning titles?

For me, unifying a weight class is more impressive, especially if you're beating top opposition. Moving up in weight and winning titles can be impressive, Sure, but you can cherry pick opposition when moving up. With Unifying you have to basically clean the division out.

Which do you find more impressive?
    16
    Unifying a divison
    87.50%
    14
Moving up winning titles in multiple divisions
    12.50%

Unifying is much more impressive. It say you earned your world championship moniker and not just bought on from a gumball machine.

What happens if the division you are unifying is full of bums... but the classes above you are full of top opposition.

I think the best answer is: It depends.

Unifying is more impressive most of the time, though there are exceptions.

Unify, move up and leave no stone unturned.

It depends on the division(s) in question.

And no, Manny Pacquiao's 47 world titles in 81 different weight classes is not the most impressive thing ever done in boxing history.

                  depends who you beat.

just having a paper title doesnt mean you are the best in the division. and a win at a lower weight class can easily be more significant than one at a higher weight class.

Unifying is more impressive AS LONG as the weight class isn't full of bums.

Like Manny going up in weight is more impressive then if Sergio became undisputed Middleweight champion. If Sergio became undisputed at 154 we might have ourselves a winner.

Because 154 is stacked with young hungry lions like Williams, Alvarez, Cintron, Angulo, Cotto, and Sergei. I mean it's not a too stacked division, but it's full of solid contenders. Some havent even hit their prime yet.
