Wanted to add a plug to this book (In This Corner). I have two bookcases of just boxing books, & this one is my personal favorite of my collection. I have the old edition (1973) as well as the updated edition(1994). Very surprised to see how many of these great champions died of Alzheimer's.

If you're at all interested in the personal lives of some of the great fighters, you'll love this book.

The books in bold I have read. All great books. The others I am going to try to find somehow. I didn't even know Shavers had a book. I'll also add Joe Louis-"My Own story" as one of the best boxing books I have read. He talked about everything in that book.

Read "Barney Ross" by Douglas Century.Out of all the boxing books I've read this is probably my favorite. I can't speak highly enough about it.
