This is so ridiculous I don't even know why I'm responding to it. You're basing steroid use strictly from weight gain. If that's your logic almost ever fighter in history used steroids. Muhammad fought as low as 188 and evened his career at 236. Roberto Duran went from as low as 119 to as high as 174. Anybody accusing a fighter of using steroids based on weight gain alone (as they get older) is not using good logic. Lewis first fight was at 231. His last fight he weighed 256 and looked fat. Steroids must not have worked too well lol. And I don't know what kind of math you're using but that's not over 35 pounds.

Lewis would be an idiot to sue somebody over posts on a fairly niche/obscure website and ensure that the accusation was plastered over the front pages of national newpapers worldwide. Even if he won and as there isn't much evidence against him to think he wouldn't , mud would stick and the accusation wold gain more currency.
Any lawyer advises about suing for libel as its a mugs game.

Whether he used steroids or not I would want more evidence than one persons opinion to take away someones reputation.

As for his weight gain, it seems as if it was a deliberate ploy to put on a stone after the McCall loss and Lewis changed his style and fought much more flat footed after it.
Also your metabolism slows down as you get older so most boxers struggle to make weight as they advance in years.
Steroids is a pretty heavy accusation to make and I think it is unfair to make it without compelling evidence.

They must know that if any decent HW had this luxury, theyd be undefeated.
Different era, look at the HW reigns of the champions before Dempsey a lot weren't active.
In those days championships were hard won you virtually had to pick off the top 10 one by one to get a shot so when you won the championship you sat on it and made it work for you. There was enough money being HW champion doing exibitions etc, for the lower weight class champions there wasn't that sort of money just holding the title so they had to defend more.

Corbett defended the title 3 times in 5 years.
Fitz took 2 years to defend it
Jeffries only defended it once a year
The guy Dempsey won it off only defended it once in 4 years

ESB is not a respected multi-million dollar corporation. Any idiot with a keyboard can post bull**** on that forum and not get sued. Hundreds of people call Manny Pacquiao a roider everyday and dont get sued...

you cant sue someone over an OPINION which is all Jorgensen has because he presented no facts whatsoever.

Its not my opinion that Holyfield used drugs, its a fact because his ****ing home address was on a police report.

I understand the times were different. But sitting on a title is a lot easier than defending it. Which is why I debate a lot of people who overrated Dempsey's resume. It just doesn't match up to many champions in history who defended their titles multiple times. A lot of Dempsey fans will argue Dempsey's resume was better than this guy or that guy. But they never explain how in specifics other than the Willard fight or what some long dead boxing trainer or witer felt about Dempsey

I wouldn't argue that there are a couple of names that Dempsey should have defended against but I think a big problem with the likes of Dempsey and Johnson is that we never saw the best of them as they were probably at their peak before winning the title, the same with Liston but luckily we have footage of Liston on his way up. Whatever your feelings on Dempsey and his not defending against Wills and Greb you cannot overlook that in 1918/19 he was chopping down a lot of HWs including the likes of Fulton and Gunboat Smith who were good fighters. Willard wasn't a great fighter but he was a tough guy, Gunboat Smith said Willard could absorb enormous punishment but Dempsey nearly killed him. I don't think Dempsey was the greatest HW but he should be in anyone's top 10 imo
