    Joe Frazier's Punching Power?

How do you rank it amongst the ATG great punchers.

    72% KO ratio. 27 KO's in 32 wins.

Very high, not only did he have a great and powerful left hook, but he had a nice right uppercut also.

Although there is a few guys I would rank above him in terms of punching power.

Frazier had brutal punching power and IMO he punched harder than Shavers

Smokin Joe could really **** but I don't think there's any evidence for that. How did you come to that conclusion? Everybody who fought both said that Shavers was one of the hardest punchers, if not the hardest puncher, they ever fought.

Shavers definitely had a lesser chin then Frazier, and definitely wasn't as good a fighter as Frazier, but I really think shavers hit harder. More knockouts and fights, and a higher KO ratio. Also something you have to remember is that Frazier definitely had more time to pound quarry then shavers.
It would be interesting to look at their common opponents.

In an interview George Chuvalo who fought them both in their primes. Did not rate Forman as a more powerful puncher. He said " the two had a different type of punching power, Forman was like getting hit by a truck and Frazier like getting hit by a sports car at high speed".

Frazier was a hard puncher, especially with that vicious left hook. His pre Ali fights show him at his best. I probably wouldn't have Joe as one of the top 10 all time heavyweight punchers, but his left hook could hurt almost anyone whoever stepped into a boxing ring.

Frazier had one-punch KO power which is sufficient. Anything higher then that and we're splitting hairs over gravy.
