but his resume is ****ing stacked. Top notch fighters and the fact that he dominates almost all of them, and keeps moving up. Beating up a guy almost 20 lbs heavier than him.

The only small argument is that he's only fought 2 fighters that were legit prime (barrera (arguable) and Marquez. Others were close prime or had been beat before.

Hardly anyone has a lot of prime fighters on thier list though, Ali does however.

If Pac beats May his resume has to be the best of all time in terms of quality. He basically wiped out one of the best featherweight/sfw divisions ever and that was only the beginning.
See, this is what I just don't understand. How can you say that with a serious face? There are literally dozens of fighters with as good, and better resumes and quality. The quality of fighters (if you are going to pretend he's in the top ten) is the exact thing he is lacking. What's great is his weight accomplishments, not who he has beaten.

We have been recently talking about Jimmy McLarnin. His resume makes Pac's look like a fat pile of steaming ****. He fought 14 HOF and beat 13 of them. Thirteen Hall of Fame fighters. That's about as many champions as Pac has beaten all up, in this day and age of every damn fighter on earth being a titlist of some sort. Harry Greb also beat thirteen. It's two very obvious and great examples, but two who are clearly, clearly on another level when it comes to quality of resume. I mean clearly.

How many has Pac beaten? Five? How many good ones? Three?

Come on man, don't be ****ing ******. This is the one absolutely ridiculous thing I hear about him. The best resume ever? In today's age of titles everywhere and everyone holding one he's still only fought about 14/15/16 champions. There are many fighters who have fought that many champions in today's boxing age. Right now, I know that Kostya Tszyu fought, from memory, 16 world champions, or maybe it was 14. Anyway, something like that.

Manny Pacquiao's resume does not have a great quality of fighters if you are talking about a top ATG. It is excellent overall, amazing in fact, but it's not close to being one of the greatest ever. Not close.

Harry Greb and Jimmy McLarnin fought that many HOFers!

    Forget it....No point.

    Best resume ever....?

When you go through Pac's career i do rank his knockout wins against Barrera in texas and Sasakal(sp?) his best wins. The fight in Thailand for the Flyweight title was close, and he knew that the judges were likely going to give the local fighter a hometown decision, and he scored the knockout, and the judges did have the thai fighter ahead. He did the same in the Barrera fight, and i don't want to hear Barrera was shot, he was coming off a sting of wins. The 2nd Morales win was a solid not great win, as Morales had clearly got outboxed by Zahir Raheem in his previous match that he loss. Pac has a bunch of solid wins as Larios, Ledwaba, Cotto, and Hatton. As i said Solid not great wins as SRL had against an undefeated Hearns, Benitez, or a 73-1 Duran, or ending Hagler's 12 defense streak.

One thing i respect about Pac is that goes for the kill, you see how marquez got robbed against Chris John in indonesia? Marquez had two point deductions and i still had him winning, but he didnt go for the KO on the other guy's turf. Also in Rd8 of the Pac rematch, he had pac's eye badly cut and even pac admitted he couldn't see from the eye at that moment, Marquez should have went gung ho, but he was too cautious, and than Chavez fixed the cut and pac came back and won a close split decision, a fighter if given a chance should take it away from the judges hands.

Remember the guy who they call "featherfisted sweet pea"? WHen Whitaker was losing to Hurtado and possibly losing a big payday with the DLH fight, even Whitaker and his featherfists knocked the guy out when he needed too. This is why i never like JMM as much as Morales. If it was Morlaes having Pac in that RD8 situation, the outcome would have been different.

Many will say that Pac never fought an african american fighter and that is why i think if he can't get May, he should consider someone like Bradley, PW(if he beats Martinez this saturday), or even a Berto. Mosley all due respect, that is not a fight that i want to see, it should have taken place after the Margs fight. Maybe if Sergio wins he can fight Pac next, as he is seen as slick, and many boxing historians will see how Pac fights a slick fighter in the higher weights.

Pacquiao has 8 world titles all in different divisions.

He keeps on doing the impossible. The Henry Armstrong of our era. Already established as the greatest asian and southpaw fighter of all time. Right now hes in the top 5.

Is it even remotely possible we can at least wait until Pacquiao has slipped well into past-prime status before we start ranking him? He's an ATG fighter but at least wait until his prime's gone before looking for an exact spot for him on the lists :rolleyes9:
