      He beat some decent fighters and lost to some. I'd say he's comparable to recent fighters such as Rahman, Tua, Maskaev and Ibragimov.

                  He was no beauty to watch, I agree. But boxing is about who's most effective, not who looks best doing it. Galento was effective when he trained seriously and beat some good fighters. Was he great? Not by any stretch. But he was a solid fighter.

                    I would compare the crudeness of Galento to todays Sam Peter. Not the best fighter out there, but still effective.
