Buster Douglas. Had all the skills and physical tools to be a great.....and ate his way out of it. Not to mention an overall lack of desire.

Kirkland Laing - I saw a documentary on this guy (think it was Steve Bunce) and he was a very talented fighter. He even beat Duran which was awarded 'biggest upset of the year' by ring but just loved to indulge in drink and drugs. He potentially could have won a world title.

Nicolino Locche and Young Griffo, Locche was a chain smoker and Griffo was a alcoholic.

Wouldn't say they was a complete waste of talent as they are both very impressive but didn't take training all that seriously.

Marciano shoulda stayed in the game.

Foreman shouldn't have taken a year off after getting beat in the jungle.

Nas should have stayed in the game.

            Hagler should have rematched Leonard.

Thing is none of these guys were a waste, they played the game for what it was.

Tony Ayala, Paul Spafadora, Jose Luis Lopez, Ike Ibeabuci, Shanon Briggs, Ray Mercer, Harry Simon and many more I just can't remember right now. Talented boxers with different type of attributes in their own right but sloppy training habits or no dicipline to train or in their personal life.

As accomplished that James Toney has been he could have done alot more if he was more diciplined with himself

ALways think that had John Conteh been a bit more disciplined he had the talent to be an ATG
