Oscar DeLa Hoya VS Roberto Duran

At their primes, who would have won between Oscar Dela Hoya and Roberto Duran if they fought at the Lightweight Division? Also, who would you rank higher as an ATG?
    Thanks.

Duran creams a young ODLH at LW who was prime in this weight class, and a top 3 fighter there. This fight would be more competitive at WW or 154. I rank Duran above ODLH.

At lightweight, Duran beats the living **** out of De La Hoya. At 147, it's closer, but Duran still wins convincingly. 154, you could make a case for the Golden Boy. And Duran is maybe a top 10 ATG, Hoya might not crack 50.

I think the 135 De La Hoya is way to green to give prime Duran a real run for his money. At WW or JMW you could make an argument I suppose.

I like Oscar in this fight as there aren't many guy's I would favor to beat Oscar.

I'm kind of surprised to see people say DLH would be "creamed" or as Yeti put it get the "**** beat out of him" by Duran. But since that remark came from Yeti, it holds no water.

DLH was incredibly talented, and while this fight could be won by either fighter, I will give the nod to DLH because he was insanely fast, had incredible left hook, great combination's, big heart and a granite chin.

If anybody thinks that ANYBODY could "beat the **** out of DLH" anywhere from 135-147 you're kidding yourself.

DLH gets so much hate on this board and he is one of the greatest fighters of all time. Nobody is "beating the ****" out of prime De La Hoya at any of his comfortable weight classes, I don't care who you are.

I agree that ODLH tends to get under rated a lot but this is Duran at Lightweight we're talking about.

It wouldn't be an easy fight like some are making it to be, but I still think Duran has the edge at Lightweight, Duran by UD.

Oh **** you. Just because the greatest lightweight of all time beats a young prospect version of De La Hoya doesn't mean I hate him. Duran was an animal. At 147, he beat Sugar Ray Leonard, who is like De La Hoya with more of everything. At 135, he made his 147 version look like a chump. And De La Hoya would have been too brave for his own good here, trying to stand toe to toe with Duran until his ribs collapsed. I'm not saying he doesn't fight back, but Duran is too much and beats the **** out of him, busting up ribs and his face. Also, Duran was a notoriously underhanded fighter, he would have elbowed and low-blow'd De La Hoya into submission. Did I mention **** you?

                The only sensible post here.

Yeti seems to believe that this fight has happened in his mind and DLH was destroyed, battered, and was given a collapsed lung by Duran, basically what Hearns did to Duran, Duran did to DLH in his deluded little mind.

Duran was great but DLH is no pushover and is great himself. He has a good size advantage over Duran, who was utterly destroyed by a 6' Tommy Hearns.

Although that fight was at 150 or 154 I believe, it showed me one thing - Duran doesn't know how to beat a guy who knows how to fight with a size, reach and speed advantage (DLH has arguably more power?), and his 200 second destruction via Tommy Hearns showcased this.

So because an old, drunken, fat, undersized Duran got sparked by a top 3 P4P puncher in history, a talented prospect beats him in his prime? Is that what you're saying? Because that's what it seems like. And guess what: Ray Leonard is one inch shorter than De La Hoya. He's got more power, faster hands, a better chin, bigger heart, better mobility, i.e. he's a better fighter in every department. Duran moved up to a weight class he had never fought at and gave Sugar Ray his first loss. Duran at lightweight is better than welterweight. So, if De La Hoya reached his prime at welterweight, he was before his prime at lightweight. What accomplishments at 135 does De La Hoya have at 135 that put him anywhere near Hands of Stone? Duran bullys De La Hoya and caves in his ribcage, breaks an eyesocket, etc. TKO 9.

We're talking about 5'11 Oscar DLH, not some 5'4 De Jesus.

Good luck throwing elbows at Oscar in Vegas and getting away with it.

Yeah, that wouldn't look awkward, you moron.

He got an arguable decision to Leonard then came back and got his ass KO'd, then again was beat in a decision, so wtf are you talking about? And Leonard may be higher on an ATG list, but that doesn't mean he's going to school Oscar.

Oscar was very very good and isn't getting clowned by anybody. He was destroyed once and that was by Pacquiao and that fight should have an "*" next to it. He was old, not hungry, poorly trained, and majorly weight drained.

What makes you think anybody is going to **** him up the way you seem to believe he would be ****ed up?

Yeti you are out of your element. However, this is boxingscene and DLH is pissed on left and right here so you might have a lot of idiots that agree with you that only know Oscar from his fight with Manny Pacquiao but that is not reality, son.
