It's hard to make a pick because Dempsey had trouble against good fancy boxers.Head to head I would go with RJJ,because Dempsey had trouble with boxers like RJJ.However,I believe Dempsey could have destroyed fighters that would beat RJJ.

Hard to compare these guys considering how different the sport was when each one fought. However, Jack Dempsey would probably be rated higher on most ATG lists because people favor older fighters.

dempsey was a monster in an era when boxing was front page newsworthy. he made as much in a title fight as babe ruth made in 4 seasons. for 7 years he was the toughest man in the world. i can't say i'd rank roy even close to dempsey.
