Hardest puncher, no. But he generally resides at the top of most best puncher lists, because of his precision and finishing ability.

Thomas Hearns hit harder P4P than Louis, as did Foreman and Shavers. I don't know how I'd rank those three, but I'd say it's them for the top.

Roberto Duran, Hearns, Foreman, McClellan, and Julian Jackson. Trinidad and Naseem deserved to be mentioned too.

            I agree with that statement.

Joe Louis is arguably the greatest p4p puncher, but not the hardest. He's probably the most precise devastating puncher of all time.

Hardest p4p would have to go to one of the old timers, like Langford, Fitzsimmons, Choynski, etc. These were WELL undersized Heavyweight contenders/champions who hit just as hard as any Heavyweight of their day. They make guys like Marciano and Dempsey look big.

In his prime Sonny Liston only had about 5 lbs on Louis.

So there is another one who might hit harder p4p.

also he beat a 7 years older than himself worn Jackson.
also dennis milton whom outpointed mcclellan over 6 rounds was KO'd in 1 round by Jackson.
