Very true.. The recent and rapid fall of DLH is still in a lot of peoples minds unfortunately.. But when you look at the quality of his resume and the fact he fought all the very best in the middle of their prime, i don't see how anyone can argue..
And yes, 72 is too low, but as you more or less said earlier, it's a bloody hard list for anyone to do..

this is real hardwork.... if you truely tried to gage them and did not just throw the names there.. here are my thoughts..

Eder Jofre, a bit low should be somewhere +5 to +10 in that list.. (greatest bantam end of story).

Salvador Sanchez way too high.. (this i'm going to be crucified).. but come on..
if Morales died after the 1st Pacman fight, everyone would put him in their top 30.
he is getting the plus credit for "what if he did get to live more" thing..

Oscar Dela Hoya too low.. should be in top 50.. (six division title, yeah.. yeah.. i know, but its not his fault for having too many titles nowadays)

Khaosai Galaxy too low.. should be top-100, +20 in that list.. (thailand's best, a country rich in boxing history)

you put Miguel Cotto at #192 and Felix Trinidad at #76.. (the gap is too wide for the two Ricans, 116)

Jung-Koo Chang & Myung-Woo Yuh made it, than where is Masao Oba?

but honestly, good job. 200 list.. its crazy hardwork. Even I can't make one.

im not just that high on jofre. Who did he beat? He is like jimmy wilde whose legacy rides on the fact that they are the best fighter in their division. I ranked wilde higher because he fights guys bigger than him. As for jofre, who did he beat that is better than who ike williams and holyfield beat...

As for Galaxy, the same goes. Who did he beat? He is didn't move out of his comfort zone(in thailand and at 115). I would even favor tapia and rafa marquez to beat him. Maybe even watanabe

i really like the comparison of dempsey and sanchez. They look dominant in their prime while still being young. He is still on his way up on the moment he died. I know saddler-sanchez would be the best dream fight below lightweight.

Tito Trinidad has fights with vargas and dela Hoya and is an ATG in every sense of the world. Meaning, he would make it in the HOF in his first year of eligibility. As for Cotto, he is still young. Trinidad was a p4p king at one point while cotto has never been in the top 5.

Oba was just left out a bit. Im sure he is locked from 200-205th like perkins, nunn and arizmendi

As for dela hoya, i may have underrate him but please his 130 and 160 belt is almost meaningless. He got a gift against sturm and quartey.Top 50? i would say no, maybe top 65. My top 62 is already fixed.

The Galaxy part was the funniest... who did he beat?? the better quetion was, who was willing to fight him.. he is not your typical picker. The problem was, he has poor connections, network. And Watanabe oh please.. Wattanabe run and vacant his title in order to duck Galaxy. And was willing to fight anywhere. try to search. Khaosai beat few world champions by the way, if i'm not mistaken 9.. when there were only 3 alphabet soups back then. Ring Mag would not put him #43 for nothing.

Good stuff mate. 200 is one hell of a lot of fighters to think about and get into some semblance of order. Well done.

Now, I noticed you said who did Jofre beat? Who indeed!

Let's have a look shall we?

Basic info: Was a two division world champion at BW and FW. He was the unified BW champ from '61 to '65 or '66 and made six defenses of the BW title. He made one defense of his FW title before retiring.

Before we look at his wins, one thing has to be mentioned here: All of his opponents were in what I consider the toughest BW era ever. Jofre held both titles for many years, and fought nearly every single great fighter in that era. A lot of the guys were easily good enough to not only win a title in another era but even dominate another era and there were a lot and many of them did in fact dominate other divisions or BW when he left.

Anyway, let's look at his opponents: Overall, he has one of the best resumes for win/loss ratio for the caliber of opponents faced. The one guy he couldn't beat was the Manny Pacquiao (literally) of the day. A certified HOF legend, a frenzied, mad, offensive machine that didn't stop punching, had great skill and was in his prime years. I'm talking of the great 'Fighting' Harada of course, Japan's best fighter. In two fights for the unified BW championship, he was the one foe that Jofre couldn't overcome.

His wins though (in no order at all. I won't mention all their best wins or titles they won but just some very brief opponents and some titles they won if I remember):
Vincente Saldivar 37-2 (best win: pick any. Unified FW champ, HOF, Sugar Ramos, Ismael Laguna etc etc)
Jose Legra 132-10 (best win: Howard Winstone, FW title)
Ernesto Miranda 40-3 (best win: Jose Smecca)
Leo Espinosa 44-10 (best win: great Flyweight champs Pone Kingpetch and Yoshio Shirai)
Jose Smecca 14-0 (best win: Kid Pascualito)
Jose Medel 52-16 (best win: pick any, Fighting Harada, Chucho Castillo, hugely underrated! Considered among the best to never win a title)
Piero Rollo 56-3 (best win: great FW champ Mario D'Agata)
Sadao Yaoita 43-8 (best win: an undefeated 50-0 Pascual Perez!)
Johnny Caldwell 25-0 (best win: great BW champ Alphonse Halimi, BW champ that Jofre beat to win title)
Katsutoshi Aoki 41-1 (best win: Piero Rollo, Leo Espinosa)
Bernardo Caraballo 39-0 (best win: pick any, like Medel is hugely underrated. Beat Pascual Perez, Antonio Herrera, an undefeated 52-0 Waldemir Pinto-himself greatly underrated, Piero Rollo, 56-2 Carlos Miranda, Manny Elias etc)
Godfrey Stevens 71-7 (best win: Kid Pascualito, Jose Smecca, 38-0 Raymundo De Jesus, Antonio Herrera, Miguel Angel Botta, Don Johnson etc and went on to fight everyone from Jofre to Olivares, to Arguello to Saijo all a bit too late though sadly)
Octavio Gomez (best win: Danny Lopez, Art Hafey, Rafael Herrera, Kid Pascualito, Romeo Anaya)

All of the above were great fighters in their own right in an absurdly deep division at both FW and BW. All of these guys were championship level fighters and although some of them never won a title it was because there was only the one guy in the division and at the time those divisions were ruled by legendary fighters who often stayed at the top for a long time so they might have only had one shot in their lifetimes.

The lesser, but still very solid opponents (ie. brief or minor titlists or the very good journeymen-Emmanuel Augustus', by today's standards), Juan Antonio Lopez 35-3, Manny Elias 42-17, Johnny Jamito 29-3, Roberto Castro 56-3, Eloy Sanchez 29-12, Gianni Zuddas 57-14, Ramon Arias, Rudy Corona etc etc etc.

It's a pretty amazing record when you take into account the era and if you know about the fighters of that era quite well. He dominated an incredible era of brilliant fighters and lost to one guy only, who was a legend. He was like the Ray Robinson of his era. Fought everyone and beat everyone, bar one fighter and had all the skill you could imagine, speed, defense, power, chin, heart, stamina.....everything. A truly brilliant and skilled fighter and one of the ATG's.

You got an all time list of 200 fighters? 200? There are a lot of names I might put at different numbers but great job. Lol, 200. I was expecting crap, but this must have taken a lot of time and thought. Nice job. 200 deserves green k.

This is why myself and others don't post our personal top 200 list. It gives bait for some trolls to jump on any glaring omissions or sequence of your order. As events constantly happen in the sport the sequence of my order gets edited often. Btw, I AM not accusing anyone of being a troll who honestly disagrees with a ranking but some people will just jump on an excuse to have a long winded back and forth debate on an "opinion."

In addition, we are constantly learning new things or finding out things about past fighters. The way their achievements survive the test of time also helps.

I think my list has maybe 25 or 30 different names compared to this list but its similar in many ways. I don't have Duran or Charles in my top 10; i have Gans and Tunney instead. For boricua fighters; i have Serrano, Calderon, Montanez, and El Chapo rated higher than Cotto. But if Cotto wins at 154 he will definitely climb several slots.

Also like the TS i have Salvador Sanchez in my top 40, so i don't think he is overrated.

                      personally i use this criteria:

accomplishment, resume, historical significance, overall ability dominance,
                      longetivity and mainsteam appeal

I consider top 100 to be ATG while 101-120 to be borderline ATG...
